View Full Version : How did this game get Matrix-ized?

To explain, since the release of The Matrix part III, my friends and I have begun using the term "Matrix-ize" to define "the near deliberate destruction of something near perfect" or, in other words, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
How did this game, with such promise, become Matrix-ized? In a parralel universe, this would be a criminal offense, no?

I don't know why people diss the Matrix movies. I guess some people aren't intelligent enough to understand it and need something to gripe about when a Star Wars movie isn't out.

i think he just means the third movie was a huge let down after having your mind blown by the first 2. i agree, but after watching 3 a couple more times it grew on me. anything with giant fighting robots can't be too bad.

One Rocked
Two Sucked but had a corky twist that made me watch... but the message in two was too biblical for my liking.
Three was the same with the Biblical stuff. But the Fight action was what made me watch the movie!
The Wachowski Brother and (now oe soon to be) Sister did get in trouble on a legal level with the rights.... hum whos idea was this movie?

In Three, the last fight with Agent Smith and Neo was overwrought and boring. Overall Suck Factor = 7

That would be because they are simply bad movies; hollywood trash at it's worst, and watching them is a terrible waste of time since there is much better science fiction available.
Personally I found that the acting was horrible, the characters were one-dimensional, the excess amount of ridicilous special effects made me yawn, the music was torture, and the plot was ludicrous and wannabe-profound.

I thought matrix 1 was pretty good, though too much special effects, although they were at least orignial on some of them.
Matrix 2 was totally pathetic. Apparently they were overwhelmed with the need to make the movie as long as the Lord of the Rings movies and thus made every single scene longer, in my pinion much too long.
matrix 3 was actually an improvenment over the first, as they seemed to have time to actually write a few added simple scenes and removed the much to long for this scene feeling.
over all the entire series of matrix at best was marginal, and certainly only the first one was worth watching more than once. I think Matrix 2 could be totally skipped and just watch 1 and 3 and you would be good to go.

the best thing about matrix 1 was the marketing campaign.
they never showed you anything about what the movie plot was going to be in the previews, just a bunch of green numbers and letters, a few quick flashes of action scenes, and the words "the matrix has you" followed by a date.
The movie was original enough, and the effects were pretty good.
2 and 3 needed a plot tho, they spent too much time trying to mimic the wow factor of the first movies unexpected special effects, but since everyone had seen them in the first one, they failed cause they werent new.

Go watch "Wing Commander" and you'll notice that is the definition of Hollywood trash. Have you ever seen a movie called "Deadtime Stories"? sigh
I think the The Matrix gets a bad rap.

While Wing Commander was AWFUL..I paid to see that..and got my $ back :)
Brings back nightmares..
I love Star Wars but unlike most SW nerds I admit there are problems with :
Acting ( I HATE hayden , HATE .. Reminds me of how awful Mark Hamil is as an actor)
But with all the flaws I'm still a nerd :)
for anyone who is interested here i a link to see what happened with the Matrix/Terminator movies..
Sophia Stewart became rich VERY quicky..

I think Hayden is a terrible actor also, but I don't go around saying that Star Wars stinks just because of one person. I also think the whole Jar Jar thing was blown out of proportion. Personally, Jar Jar acted way better than Hayden.

I share in your pain... If I ever saw Hayden in real life I would punch him in the face without delay and say "Do you hate ME now?".
