I have a PC with about 3/4 the power of yours and I play at 1280x1024, 32 bit, 85hz... and have no problem with slow downs.
I might suggest the problem is not with the game, but with your system running something in the backround... or some other PC slowing problem.

Thanks a ton for this patch! Now all we need now, is multiplayer fixed up and character creation working and then we will finally be happy.

Yes, thank you. I was one of those who didn't want to start the game without the automap. Although I fell into the "whiner and crybaby" category post release, I do appreciate the work that has been done to remedy the situation.

If no more patches are in the hopper at this point would it be possible to release the code for player-made modules sometime in the near future?

Errmmmmm There is a Shadow Toggle option in the options menu but it doesnt do anything, even with it set to off it still renders full shadows....

I have a nice video Card but I have a celeron processor which as all celeron processors lacks a side arithmatic module so things like Shadows and particles do cause major slowdown.

No, I dont have any processes running that dont NEED to be active :-P

If the option would work, I would be fine im sure of it. But it doesnt :-(

I would also like to say "thanks" for the patch, as well as welcoming "dtp Chris" and "Cyclops" to the forum.

To them, I'd just like to say; please don't take the criticism and griping about the patch personally. It's just that it doesn't include as much as many of us had thought it would. Most of us thought it would also include "Character Customization" and bug fixes for at least the "Known" show stopping bugs.

Not to mention that we've been waiting for 4 to 6 weeks to get this patch and that many people had put the game aside, not planning to start it until this "Superpatch" came out. Likewise, many who experienced one of these "showstoppers" had set the game aside until those issues had been addressed and have not played the game since, because they did not want to invest another 4, 8, 12, or 20 hours of playtime, only to fall victim to some other prospective "showstopper" later in the game.

So again, thanks for the patch. We do appreciate the Automap and various tweaks and fixes that were included. We do however wonder if there will be another patch to address Character Customization and fix the other showstopping bugs players have found?

Character customization would be nice, yes, but it isn't truly necessary to the game. I'm sure you were saying your thought with that in mind, Cleric, but not everyone would get that. I, for one, can wait, as I am sure others can, as well.
As long as I can play the game, get what I truly need(major quests done, class upgrades, etc.), that's enough for me to play the game. Some add-ons increase the playability, but they are not essential to playing. Automap is a nice feature, which helps you find your way, and it would be understandable why people would want it, but it is not truly necessary to playing the game, is it?

Yes THANKS FOR THE PATCH !!!

OR should they be thanking us for purchasing a buggy game in the first place !!!

Think about it !!! Your paying for something, why should you be the ones giving thanks.

true, we can live without it... however, if they promised it and even included the buttons, yet not functional, I think we should get what we deserve

Why am I giving them a thank you?

Simple.. because I appreciate the work they've done on repairing some of the glitches in the game and in adding the automap. I don't care about the who's wrong/who's right or why something wasn't there when it was supposed to be.

They are making an effort, and I am saying thanks.

True and I agree with you. But....at least they did make the effort and put in the automap after so many of us griped. I'm glad they did try to correct some of the stuff that got us all so irked when we bought the game. For me I can at least play the game with an automap.

Actually, it will be interesting to see what those of us who waited for the map think of the game.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the patch or anything, just putting my opinions out.
But yes, thanks so much for the patch! The automap rocks, and having (at least some of) the spells working again(mainly Shrieking Star) and the items now placed in the game is really nice! *forgets this is not the forum for that, but oh well.

Oh - I see now. You are right !!!! If I hired a contractor to put on a new roof and they do 1/2 job then charge me for a full job. After I tell them that the new roof they put on is faultly causing leaks inside my house everytime it rains.

I should have them come back "WHEN THEY HAVE THE TIME" to fix the problems. I should thank them for it? In return shouldn't they charge me less or give me something in return for the problems they caused from the first faulty install? I did pay for the service "Full Price".

But your right, we should give them our praise for a necessary patch.

And here goes the flaming again..... Personally, I was content with the 1.1 patch, 1.3 is just a bonus, thx HP and the DL crew!

Flaming? How is being reasonable flaming? I just made a reasonable point. Yes well should thank the developer for providing us with patches after all well did purchase the game with "our money" which is now "their money". Isn't that enough support. Should we give them more money so they can do a better job. If they were thinking about us they would have never released a buggy game.

But NO, your thinking about them. How kind of you.

Where they thinking about us when they released a buggy game?

NOOOOO.

Oh but know you say we should ask them politely for a necessary patch.

Oh I forgot, you were fine with patch 1.1

Please do not patch the game again. Its fine the way it is per the lizard man.

Yes, I am crying on the inside :(

I waited for this patch and thought the customize would be in it. I couldn't care much less about a map feature. *sigh*

some armors, such as imperial, will majorly lag you. i believe it may be because of the movement of the emblems
