Automap functionality

The automap is a great help inside buildings and dungeons, but the tiny viewing area is like looking through a knothole when running around the countryside. Sure, it can be zoomed in and out with the keypad + and -, but it sure would be extremely nice to make the viewable area much larger (half screen, full screen?)

Yeah i know but hey, its better than nothing. I just use my ingame map mod along with the automap.
