It doesn't get much more "off-topic" than this, talking about a car game in an RPG forum, but what the hey!
I downloaded this game from Avault a few days ago, and forgot about it, thinking it was going to be another London Taxi (and what a pile of crap THAT game was). I installed it tonight to just have a quick look at it, and found it to be a top-down, story-driven car combat game. Apparently it's based on a game called Autoduel which I don't know anything about but maybe some of you are familiar with it.
Basically you're out for revenge against an escaped convict and his four gang members that killed your brother so the plot isn't exactly original, but it sets the stage for what you're doing and why. Every chapter involves going after one of the five, and I assume the last chapter will be the showdown between yourself and the main guy. What you do is you drive from town to town, engage in combat with random bandits, salvage their loot when you win, sell it in town and use the money to upgrade your car and weapons. Eventually you'll pick up a main-stroy quest, go to the location, kick some *** and move on to the next chapter.
Since I loaded it up just to have a quick look and was still playing an hour later, I thought I'd share it with you guys. I love finding games like this! If anyone is interested, get the demo (http://www.avault.com/pcrl/demo_temp.asp?game=mmm) from Avault, it's only 50mb or so.
