I'm sure everyone is familiar with the rare ghost or Haunt spawns in the dungeons. Aren't these a little too powerful? I might could take one out, but I never see just one. It's always two of them and they always kill me, which is why I save frenquently in dungeons.

Range weapon don't work on them and the freeze spell locks me down while both of them brutalize me with powerful ice spells. Are they supposed to be this way or is this an issue to be fixed?

Yes, I agree that these 'ghosts' were very difficult at first. Now, they are pretty easy with any 'fire' spell. I just shot fire or flames at them and they are pretty easy.

If they freeze you, you can 'pause' the game (go to your equipment list). The monster's will stop moving and fighting, but the ice will thaw. This can help minimize the effects.

Anything in the game with a breath weapon is excessively hard
They can attack with it repeatedly. It would be nice if they had a limit

headless in the first crypt? and the Guardian Beast (smoke breathing giant devil-dog)? The game keeps doing this all the way through.

The extra hard critters keep the game interesting, they make you plan out you encounter. There is always a way - sometimes it takes some ingenuity. :)

I personally enjoy having monsters which bring fear when adventuring. I don't know about most of you but the original Sacred was quit boring with monsters... nothing but lots of weaklings. There was never a reason to be afraid at all.

Concerning the headless in the crypt, I have had quite an encounter. After getting the horn, one Headless Brute spawned. I killed that one and then another spawned, and then a third. After that, I didn't stick around to see if it was four in a row...

I agree that there should be some challenging creatures. Maybe the haunts aren't as tough for mages, but using just a sword and shield against two of them is very, very hard. I've only run into one that wasn't inside a dungeon. It spawned in the Forbidden Lands near the Moongate with some undead, but it went down with one hit.

The Haunts are pretty dang hard at low levels, if you don't know what to do. The good thing is, if you time everything right, you can heal and defend yourself at the same time. If you get hit by an IceShard spell, then you would need ot open the inventory, quaff a potion, then open the inventory fast again. They shouldn't hit you again between inventory closing and opening again, and you can wait for the spell to wear off. Then, close the inventory and hold the block button down, and defend versus the spell. Then have at them, and they should die! :D

Actually if you see them coming haunts aren't too hard, ANY of their spells and many others can be blocked by raising your shield and they do give a good amount of warning. Block with shield when they use spells hit them with sword when not...Try to keep them both on one side of you. It is easy this way but might take a while. Also any creature that uses fire or cold are usally vulnerable to the opposit so if you have fireball....they are also undead so if you have the sun ray...

The inventory pause thing only works in SP....

Don't forget Dispel Undead for the low-level people or Dispel Evil for the higher ones. Undead only hits one, while Evil hits them all around you. :)
