View Full Version : Fast-Item (F) Menu Anomaly?

Early in the game, when I fight the goblins before entering the city's sewers, I was able to fight and use potions from the fast-item menu without incident, but later in the game, after I filled the fast-item menu past the second slot, every time I have the menu open and I tap the left mouse (action) button, it uses the fast-menu item in the third slot! I can't attack, nor can I toggle out of the fast-item menu by pressing F again. Needless to say, not being able to attack puts me at a serious disadvantage, and to compensate I have to open my equipment menu, hit the potion tab, and click on the potion that I want to use, a cumbersome process for what otherwise should just take an instant when the fast-menu is correctly working.
Has anyone a solution for this problem?

I'm not sure I understand your whole problem but let me see if I can help. First to get out of fast menu ie change back to your weapon you have to hit 'Q'. Hitting 'F' won't work. Now if you put a potion in a fast menu slot '1' for example then when you hit '1' you'll drink a potion. But if you put a spell in fast menu slot '2' and you hit '2' you'll be making that spell 'ready' to be used when you attack with your mouse. To stop using that spell you have to hit 'Q' to switch back to your weapon as I said at the beginning. There are exceptions, some spells work like a potion such as freezing touch, fire ward etc. Basicly if you can see your fast menu displayed in the right corner of your screen you have to hit 'Q' to turn it off. Hope that helps. D

Thanks a lot, that answers my question perfectly! It would seem simpler to close that fast-item menu by pressing the F key again, but I guess the programmers were too distracted by working on the character hair and head customizing features at the time.
