A map that you may have seen being played from time to time is Sky Temple. To my knowledge, it's only been personally distributed for the most part. I just recently happened to notice tectonic hosting it within the rar, along with a second map that was basically a work in progress for practice. The maker of the map, Shadow, has said it's okay for public distribution, even though it will never be more finished than it is. He wanted to do more things with lightmaps on it but couldn't figure out how to do it the way he wanted.
The layout itself is a finished work, and has great playability, imo. Even in its "unfinished" form, it's a lot better looking than a few I've seen. I'd like to see more people playing on it and enjoying it.

The map itself is a .pkm, so just put it directly in your pk/data folder as is.

thnx for posting this map blood i was gonna hit you up for it after i had to wipe my hdd for the raid0 stripe,but i can barely catch ya sometimes,and i havnt seen shadow in awhile unfortunatly

just played it on my own server (=> alone) and thought it was great
need to play with a proper oponent to say more about it...

I think it would be a good idea to creat maps on which you could train your movement such as jumping challanges and some kind of a rocket jump area or something similar...

on ATEG there is the map dm_k3unholy running. but everytime that map is played PK tells me that map differs from the one on the server... where can I download the map that is on the server?

The Babel Gore map was specifically designed to train for RJ moves, as well as being a map to play on.

I saw q3 movies that featured several maps that were especially created for trickjumping or in order to train strafe jumps and movement in generell.
But I think it was/is a lot easier to make maps for q3 than for pk :(

I think that you've much more possibilities for the movement/jumping in Quake than in PK.
In PK you've only simple bunnyhopping and RJ other than in Quake. Therefore you won't have any real trick-jump maps.
The making of those maps is the same for both.

I added some Sky (PCFHQ), changed the Fog, lowered the Setviewdistance & placed some Items (most Jumppads).:eek:

I am just back from PeTjA's server on which we tested the JumpMap

this is the second platform of the most difficult part until then. PeTjA placed a SA there so I am at 182/150 then...

This really is an excellent place.
My problem lies in my inexperience with rocket jumping and jumping in general, so I have not got as far as Str1ker has. But - each time I visit, I have an awesome time. The good company helps a lot... I always have a laugh with these guys. The map is unique and deserves a visit.

OMG! I got 2 HP left. that was close -- I know that it is possible with more HP cause I did one or two mistakes...
to go on in the map there are jumppads missing. so we'll see what is awaiting us up there ;)

I also did it at last, but Str1ker, did You use all the pillars? Because I found two other different ways, and the second one makes things much easier: that means You don't need to use many of the pillars. However I reached it only in warm up mode, and it still took me one hour. Of course, but I'm "n00b"... :) A picture (http://tombraider.central-game.net/sys/painkiller/DM-JumpMap-09_Goal1.jpg)... Hey guys... good to see youre all still in the pk scene.
Every time I install pk and try to find a server theres noone there :/
Oh well, at any rate I'm glad to hear you guys like skytemple, even though the texturing is really iffy.
As for the jumpmap, I don't think I ever released that. How high does it go?
btw, there was no health because it was designed to be played in warmup mode. as far as i remeber there were 5 segments:
1. climbing the tower and reaching the floating tower
2. climbing up the pillar inside and reach the enclosed roof
3. jumping from the small platforms over to the castle
4. scaling to the top of the caslte using doulbe rjs and using greandes
5. falling down the shaft and scaling the final room to reach the end
at any rate, its good to see you all are enjoying it and i have to say petja has done an excellent job adding some nice touches to it :D

im currently mapping for a hl2 mod called fortress forever, if any of you are familair with TFC or team fortress (goregrinder?), its a current generation 3rd version of these multiplayer games on the source engine with a huge following.
its a shame pk didnt facilitate mapping as easily as the source engine does. my limited knowledge of maya limited what i could do for you guys : (

The People from PKEURO like to include DM_SkyTemple in PK++, so everyone that is using this MOD will have Ur Map (& every PK++ Server !!!)
Alot of french, english & german People (basicly all over Europe) like Ur Maps!
It just dependes on Ur "OK".
In DM_Jumpmap I placed some Items, the Map needs better Lightning. Its possible to reach the Top now in FFA.:cool:

i think i stopped using xfire so i could run a tfc plug-in which i dont use anymore, so as soon as i can get xfire up and running again i will.
does anyone have a screenshot of the jumpmap from the very top?
i remeber speed running it in under 10 minutes once.
anyways, i tried running the jumpmap, but painkiller doesnt seem to recognize it... the pkm goes into painkiller/data/ right?
additionally, my painkiller is only version 1.0 atm, so ill have to use, how many? 4 patches? lol

**** Sam, talk about back from the dead! If you log in, you'll see we're playing most nights. Plus, you can xfire ingame as long as you had a chat window open for that particular individual prior to starting the game.
Let's see, I think Varus or Kalme are the resident patch requirement whizes. From 1.0, probably you can go right to 1.35(?), then 1.61, 1.62, and 1.64. Yeah, 4 sounds about right :p
I was suprised to find either of the maps tbh. Apparently your jump map had been included in the archive containing the later Sky Temple you had done, which was later than the one I had without the extra textures.

jump pads? there is one one needed on thw whole map, the second one i include.
perhaps you guys are not familiar with the double rocket jump?
some jumps require a grenade + rocket jump + second rocket jump (off of a wall) though

Noone is rusty! Let me explain:
Since 1.5 the Physic is changed. I gues U made the Maps in 1.35 or earlyer.:)
No nomore Barreljumps work now:mad: & the GrenadeRocketCombo is much harder or impossible.:( So U not rusty, U just playing with changed Physics.:eek:

No Petja, the map was desgined in the latest versions of Painkiller. (The first half was made in 1.5, the second half (everything after the glass dome) was made in 1.6+
I know grenade jumps are harder, but there not THAT bad, cmon! :D
And about the double RJ, let me explain, you need to RJ toward a wall and then as you hit it, look downwards at about a 60* - 75* angle and fire. If done right, you should get a significant added boost to your jump. However, you must be precise in the angle you fire at and the distance you are from the wall. A slight change in the angle is the difference between failure, a good boost, and an amazing boost.

How do U test Ur Maps & Jumps? Do U test them? Online on dedicated Server?
All moves & jumps should work with 255 Ping, not only with 0 Ping !!!
I cant do the jumps with 40 Ping, cmon.:p

actually i tested it too with a 86 ping when it was very early(as with all the maps from shadow or maps we did together),..and add the fact that this map runs faster than in a real multiplayer match with any real dm levels,....and who even plays with a 255 ping anyway?,...anything over 90 and ill barely even take it seriously,..lol any more than that and its affecting frames,...sometimes even less than that if the server connections bandwidth is cr@p,if you cant double rj(for example the pent in dm_babel_GORE) in a real multiplayer enviroment(where there are no 0 pings a.k.a. spermy's server when he posted all our maps on his dedicated) then this rj map is gonna be hard as f@%k no doubt,...ive seen em done,..ive done em myself,...they can be done,...the original dm_forest has such things especially made for double rocket jumps or some items cannot be reached

Are there locations for other maps like 1v1meatless? I can't find it anywhere.
Is there just a meatless also? Some of the maps on the "official" servers I don't have.
What makes these servers official anyway?
Ozzy has a bunch of maps on this server, he would host others probably. Make my life easier anyway.
