Games Music Comparison

Just wanted to start a thread about music we've enjoyed from various games & the 1 song for each of those games that stands out MOST for us.You can also compare on how different games/genres sound the same.This includes PK.

I will not put restrictions on game type,just wanna see what is the MAIN flavour us PK players all agree on (or disagree;)) & maybe we can decide the fate of where devs who work for DC & DC go in the future:D
I'am VERY curious & will make my list after relistening to my collect in the neXt few days. (consoles included)

I'll just start with 1 suggestion>>>USE Motorhead - Play The Game for the NEXT PK expansion intro:D:D:D.........this tune gets me VICIOUS in a game;)

It's a tie for me between the music for Return to Castle Wolfenstein,
and the theme for Far Cry.
Oh n just for $hit$ n giggles I would
have to say the best overall sounds I've ever heard from any game
would have to be Medal of Honor Rising Sun for the Xbox in 5.1.

Probably the most memorable music would have to
the music from Doom 64, very dark but catchy.

I've always been pretty particular to the music of Metal Gear Solid. I'm a death metal fanatic, but I enjoy a song that portrays emotion very well in accordance with video.

Metal Gear Solid generally does a good job doing it.

We now call it a classic! I like it cause of how kalme combined some killing situations with the music, and then those secrets scenes - awesome!

Did anyone here play "Turrican" for Amiga (or C64)? The second part (from 1991 I think) has one of the best soundtracks ever. Laugh at me, but I burned most of the tunes to CD years ago and I'm still listening to them every now and them. Some years later enhanced versions of these songs (played by orchestra) were published, but I like the original soundtrack even more! It was written by Chris Huelsbeck. My particularly favorite songs would be level 4-1, 4-2 and the credits sound then :D.

Other classics with great sounds are the Monkey Island adventure series, including The Pirate Song from Monkey Island 3 which we even played in our band for a while :P.

I guess I should make some remark towards painkiller as well.
After all, the music is pretty outstanding.

So as far as Painkiller goes, my favorite music comes from the
City of Water.

I just love the guitar work, especially the use the Wha-wha pedal,
good stuff !

Some time ago I put together the following music. I thought I could use it as background for some video sometime, but I never finished that. So maybe it's time to release it to the public separately now :).

The gag is that the entire song is composed using samples taken solely from Painkiller. No other/external sound samples have been added.

personally i like Atrium Complex Music 01,it has a calming effect & yet psychotic:D

i was gonna make a list but now after looking over all my games & the PK music>>>it's **** hard to pick a fav,i hate limiting myself.

BTW,i have sum mixes i've made,i call em "night in bavaria" >>was drinking 8.6% bavaria beers:O
