View Full Version : Strange engine behaviour in MP game - version 1.00!

Well, since everyone is playing 1.64, i had hard findings in 1.00.
But with success i have found, so i entered, and wtf?
The engine acts so weird, i can not describe in words...
When i try to go/jump/turn sideways - the engine does not listen and shakes me in places as if i would be drunk!
I've tried simply to jump, but the engine stoped in the air and droped me backwards.
This behaviour was on several maps i tried to enter.
Please, does anyone here has serious explains about that?
How can i play with this ridiculous movement ignorance?

That's why there are versions 1.5+, with completely rewritten netcode ;).

no ive played this game since before any patch and thats not the engine,.....it sounds more like you joined someone's "personal" server that was far away,with a sh!tty pc,..and a real sh!tty connection,...because thats exactly to the T what you described,..and unfortunatly far too many people think because the game boots on their pc that everything is fantastic and they can run as a server because they want a 0 ping, and it just doesnt work that way,...if you wanna play 1.0,..find someoen close running good hardware with a good upstream/downstream speed on their connection and play that way because you wont find a dedicated of 1.0 unfortunatly

what you describe sounds like heavy lags....
I saw these things too... It is lags. It happens when your ping is 200 and more.

No! Not lags!
Ping was very low, and it was rather what goregrinder said.
As i said, when i jump ff-->, i do not jump slowly, i am withdrawed backwards! LOL!
Imagine: you want to go, but when you push W, it stops and even drops me back! Shhit!
I guess i have to update as soon as will get BooH.
And i guess i willl play only on servers not far from LT.

Anyway, i guess this happens to everyone whose ping is about 150 and more, but ****, how can you then show your skill?
Any advice how to set a better connection?
Maby to turn of something in windows installed components for internet?

I call it the spiderman effect cause it looks like your on a string.
P.s> you need a dedicated server.
