i don't understand why people have so many problems. my LAN works just fine it has since day one. my sons and i have been playing and loving it.

here's some tips to look at

1. Make sure you allow your firewall to let DL access to your network. If you are using zone alarm or sygate you should get a pop up message when trying to connect for the first time. just alt-tab and click accept.

2. if you are on a NAT or Router make sure that you DMZ or assign ports to your computer. helps alot

3. Stop blaming the makers for your ignorance. like i said i've been able to connect to the lan and seen a few people over ip or the internet. like maybe 5

Congrats for getting it to work fully for you. However, the problem is not always so easily addressed. Some folks (myself included) are having other types of multiplayer problems.

At times the game list does not refresh. When this happens, one must relog. Other times players are not allowed to connect to someone elses games due to a "NAT" error when both parties involved have made the correct changes to their systems/networks.

As for your recomendations, they are what one should do.

1) Both my router table and firewall are set to allow access bothj ways for the game and any related ports.

2) I will never allow my computer to sit in the DMZ. This negates one of my routers main functions. I will not sit naked to the internet.

3) As I stated above, there are problems other than simple connectivity. I agree that some people just have not set their networks up properly or are using a pirated copy of the game and thus cannot connect or cannot be validated if they do in fact connect.

Where in my network are the packets stored that causes 30 seconds of lag? Packets can not live that long on a network. There is something in the game that causes 30+seconds of lag when playing over the internet. Its intermittent. I've played for 10+hours without lag, but when the lag hits, it won't go away. Even quiting and reloading does not fix it. I'm crossing my fingers for v1.4.

Thats just ridiculous. Who is to blame when all other games are working fine over LAN and Internet, but Dungeon Lords is definitely NOT?

Here's another point for your list:

4. Stop assuming that there are no problems just because YOU don't have any, which I -honestly said- doubt.

Just a little help for thoe still having LAN probs, make sure both pc;s if running windows xp have the same service packs (sp1 and 2) installed. When first LAN'd my pc could see my lovers but hers couldn't see mine so they had to host. After I had her install sp1 & 2 like my pc it networked perfectly.

Enoch how could play LaN perfectly when map resets during Lan play? As does the hotkeys. That just the surface. The game I made sucks. You and your son must play the game for 15 minutes to think Lan games work well. The game I made SUCKS!

I've got a question. Now I don't play multiplayer, but I've been trying to figure
out the moon bridge system. Do you know what the connection between the
moon bridges, star crystals, altars, runes, and the Irythnabyl maze is supposed to be? I only ask because I dropped the star of blessed spirit on the
empty circle on the moon bridge and something happened. It glowed like what
one of the areas would that holds a relic of power for a few seconds and then
faded. After the fade I could see one of the symbols glowing. Then, the star crystal popped back out. The funny thing is for awhile after the moonbridges glowed green and returned to normal as I would approach them. Any idea about the connection?
