Just installed the Gold edition - and it will not load, saying "Error" needs a released version of Windows etc etc.
I can only guess it is stumbling over the 64 bit thing.
Tried to run in compatibility mode (Win XP) but no joy.
Can you release a patch in your OS recognition module?

I will pass the issue and question on to the developers.
thank you for this very good post, IF there is a 64b OS issue, which there may be, as I dont think the game has ever been testet on a 64b OS.
Ps Im sure the box doesnt say Win64b compatible, so it may just not work, but dont loose all hope Yet, these developers are really #1 in the game, their support and efforts are top quality and definatly never seen before,

It's a good idea for you to start a thread on the Enigma board about this so those Tesseraction developers can converse with you about it.

Sorry to bring back bad news.
Kelly (The President of TesserActionGames) told me that the 64Bit Windows is unsupportet cause Alchemy won't run on it. :(

There ought to be a sticky thread on the Enigma TOW board about this. :(
Will future chapters run in WinXP-64?

The sticky I see no need for at this very moment, if the question becomes common, we will make a note of it.
Future Chapters, one cant really say, as long as the Alcamy Core is used and WinXP64b cant run it then it is not likely that it will be a supported OS:

Both responses are rather surprising...
A. It will be a common question as the 64 Bit OS will eventually become standard as drivers and apps are developed for it.
There's gonna be more people asking about this. I'm sure of it.
B. People might steer clear of future chapters for the same reason.
Not me however, If 64 Bit was the standard today, I'd break out an older PC and install WinXP (32 Bit) just for ERT. :D

The magic word "eventually", eventually as the x64 becomes standard we will eventually have more questions about it and eventually we will make a sticky :D
Its not easy for TAG to redo their entire base core just cause WindowsXP x64 cant/wont run a major part of it, its simply too expensive at this time to start all over just to support an OS that isnt near 10% of the marked.

Understood. I'm just one of those "be prepared" types. :)
I thought creating a sticky thread pre-emptively, would prevent repeated "Hey, it doesn't work in XP64!" threads. :D
