PK: Black won't launch / start

Installed the DVD version of PK black and patched it to 1.64. I try to start the game and get a cursor with the hourglass icon for about a second and then back to a standard cursor and the game never launches. I have an AMD 64 3000 with 2 Gb of ram and two geforce 6600's running in sli mode. Direct X 9.0c is installed. Tried launching it without sli and still nothing. I get no error messages or anything just a failure to launch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And you have the nVidia Firewall installed? (if so > deinst.)
