What the heck is going on with the patch? Are they just screwing with us?
but I still think we will see the update. When? Dunno.
I know we will see the update. If I were DC, I would say nothing else about the update till it comes out since all we will do is scream about how late it is till it gets here.
Oh ya, everyone quite picking on Jeremy, he is trying to be nice and help after all.

I wonder why they don't just set a date. They keep telling us that it's almost there it's almost there. Just a few things left to fix. That tells me that MOST of the larger problems/issues are already working. So if they have just a few little things that are ..... funky. then why not leave them out, release the patch then have patch 1.4b in a couple more weeks. It would releave untold amounts of anger from a large quantity of users tho some would still be angry (nature of the beast) most of us would be happy. Not to mention by now this patch has got to be about large enough for a complete release of the game. On my dialup it'll probably take me 6 more months to dl it.
I guess I'd just really appreciate a date set in stone at this point even if it was another month from now rather than every 2 weeks being told "SOON" and watching everyone assume that means 2 more weeks. So what do you think Jeremy? Think you can convince your guys to nail it down and follow through or are we all just up a creek waiting for a paddle that might not come till after we've all give'n up on our new years res?
by the way, I would guess most the DC crew doesn't post so much anymore because they got tired of getting flamed on such a regular basis;)

I would like to think they are making some really big fixes with the few programmers they have left and can afford to pay. My guess is that DC told them they have one more chance at a patch and once it's completed, that's the last patch they'll fund. I'm just speculating though.
I say let them work on it and fix the game so it can be over and done with and we can play it in its intended entirety so they can move on to Dungeon Lords 2 or something. Maybe they will learn from their mistakes. (crosses fingers)

There won't be a Dungeon Lords 2 after this debacle.I doubt that D.B. Bradley or Heuristic Parc will ever get the the chance to make another game, no Publisher with a clear mind would fund it, it would be financial suicide for them to do so.
No one would buy it anyway.HP will go the same way troika had to go.

And don't forget Westka Corporation when they canceled support for Arcatera, then started another game (never finished) and went bankrupt!
I imagine that the slowness of the patch release is due to the fact that HP only has a few people working on the patch. Most all developers re-assign or release the programmers once a project is 'completed'. This game is definitely not completed, but HP is very small and probably had to let most of its staff go after DL started to self destruct. HP has probably hit a bug they are having problems with and since the staff is diminished, well let us just say, this may take a while. *shrugs*

Do we know for sure that the quick, unfinished release was in any way HP's fault? I would assume it is all DC's fault, trying to make a quick buck. Why would HP want to ship it unfinished, unless forced to, because DC wouldn't give them any more money?
IF they make a complete patch for DL, I would definitely buy DL 2 (but only AFTER it is completely finished and patched) --- I really like this game a lot!

I would like to buy the talk of only a few people working on the game really I would if not for being part of the Minions of Mirth communtity for the last month. They have three people working on the game and a few contributors and they have 10meg patches 2 or 3 times a week. Its a huge persistant world capable of a lot more than 8 players on it plus single player and they had the smarts to release the tools to the community. Shoot, they just released a 28 meg patch tonite. I have been away from here for a while and I was one of this games advocates but they are not actively doing anything compared to Minions. I can talk live to all the developers anytime I want to! When was the last time these people here held a live chat to talk about issues? I played the demo for fifteen minutes when I decided I would pay the 25 bucks to be in the beta. I have already got my money back ten times. I was really behind this game from the start because of the Wizardy series and wizards and warriors but they aren't behind us. This game reminds me of Lords of Everquest. It was bad game released too early and after a couple of patches they pulled the plug and forums went down. Sorry guys but I see it happening here soon. See ya all later and too bad I never got to play with some of you guys online through this unrealized game. Come over to Minions of Mirth. WWW.prairiegames.com. Free demo and live chat connected to everyone even on the demo. I am out!!

From the GoGamer.com website:
Dungeon Lords only $14.90 - Save 60%
RPG shrouded in mystery, surprise, and betrayal!
Reg Price $34.90
Are they talking about the game, or the stages all the customers who buy it go through? The only thing missing is acceptance... :p

Not a bad deal for $25 and no monthly fee. I will check the demo out. Looks like single player is free and you have to pay the $25 to be able to play online with other people on their dedicated servers.

LoL, best post ever. :D
The very fact that there are still copes of this game available through retail outlets is appalling and proof positive that game makers can get away with crap that no other retailer can. It's ridiculous. The game should have been recalled no more than a week or two after it's "release". It's a defective/unfinished product, period. Are game developers somehow above the law and radar of consumer advocacy groups?
Strange.
