You have just downloaded a corrupt version of that patch. There's no other solution than to redownload it from a different location. Also make sure you're using a download manager if you're on a slow dial-up connection.

Yes, but you installed 1.61 on 1.00?

1.61 is on BooH (1.5 --> 1.61)

1.61 must be 338 MB! Download it from gamershell: www.gamershell.com (http://www.gamershell.com/)

Search painkiller patch 1.61 and you will see: http://www.gamershell.com/search/index.html?q=painkiller&x=13&y=9

It is in the download section: painkiller v1.61 CPL Patch.

yes...he can install 1.61 without BooH.
Also the corrupted patches have the same file size because there are some 00 00 00 ... bytes inside as wrong hex code. That's why you can't see it before...
