View Full Version : Changes from Patch 1.3 to 1.4 in german version

CKomet from german "World of Players (http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=119) " has collected first statements from our community members to patch 1.4
Here is the translation of the list (will be expanded in the future).
I made a new thread for this, the old one is now filled with OT discussions about a deep cut through US american society...

positive points:
- new Sound FX for many monsters
- simple armor like leather has only a short duration, better armor works longer
- respawn-rate has changed, the time between two encounters has increased
- costs for attributes are much higher
- changing weapons for ninjutsu fighters works now with "q"
- target marker now implemented
- with the skill "spying" the map shows you secret levers, items and near monsters
- with the skill "thieving" enemies drop loot before dying, so you get more items like potions
- saving bug in the forth chamber of the quest "trial of the elders" fixed
- arena bug fixed, you can now save indoors. After reloading the door is already open
- emmindor bug at the tower fixed (in MP ALL players have to fullfill all tasks to get into the tower !!!)
- after resurrection the lost attribute is shown
- all potions now working and there are more visual effects
- more celestial spells
- leveling up is now possible only after achieving the necessary attribute-points

negative points:
- you have to identify double items also
- magic Weapons from loot are fully loaded from the start, weapons from merchants have to be reloaded first at altars
- there are still short lags before a new respawn
- many campfires and pieces of furniture are still missing

yes, good update, anything thats actually worth updating though? Customization feature? Or is it already in Germany version of dung lords?

Great, perhaps if I lived in Germany I'd have cause for celebration.

Where the **** is the English version of the patch, and why have they not said a **** thing about it for that matter?

Weren't there still problems with the multiplayer mode after the patch 1.4? I think I read sth about that?

the problems were before the patch, and some are now fixed

Thanks a lot Cyclops. Much appreciated. Are you playing with the patch and have you tried multi out yet? That would be sweet to actually be able to play online. Any idea as to whether you can join games in progress or not?

Here is the list that comet was referring to

Singleplayer:

Players using ninjutsu can change with "Q" between fists and ranged weapons

You only can leave the shadow ruins AFTER getting the staff of holyness

If accessing the character-menus or other sub-menus, no more monsters spawn

In camp-modus, every hour will be checked if monsters spawn

The speed for removing traps on boxes is now different. Now theres not only the trap skill important, but also the level of the trap.

You can change with "F" between magic and melee mode

Itīs not possible anymore to assign XP after death

After reviving, theres a message that tells you, which attribute has been decreased

In the options, you can activate a target marker (known from FPS). It shows you the actual sighted target

There are added many new spells, with the main focus on multiplayer

All heraldic signs are now included and work

All skills are now included and work, like they were announced. Players with the skill "critical hit" are now

informed by message, if they made a critcal strike.

If a player is falling down from an island in the shadow region, he dies and will be revived at the entrance

Now you can create your charakter individually with different hair styles and skin colours. Also you can choose

between left- and right-handed characters

Special Weapons must be powered up at altars

Now the thief character has "identify" in his skill list

New sound effects for all races in the case of wounding or death (over 30 new SFX)

New sound effects for nearly all non-human monsters (over 200 new SFX)


Multiplayer:

The game now checks language and game version before you can join a Multiplayer-Game.

At loading a terrain zone, all players are fixed at theyre location, until all other gamers are arrived in the zone

If a player leaves the game, all important items will transfered to the game leader automaticly

What about Character Customization??????????? Can you change the look of a male human from your friend that is playing a male human with face/hair/facial hair changes, etc?

You can change hair and colour of skin... but not your face :(

if you want, i can tomorow try to make screens from the changes

Geez, CKomet*. No need to get b*tchy.

The list of multi changes is pretty vague. What most of us are wondering is if multi over the internet (NOT lan or direct IP) is playable. As you may or may not know, it isn't with 1.3. The lag is horrible, people get stuck, and there's a lot of random warping from place to place. So, the question remains: Can you play this game multi over the internet with reasonable performance and reliability in 1.4? Thanks.

Does anyone know if the 1.4 patch will fix the bug in the Fortress of Ulm when you grab the Argalia. I screwed up and saved the game there which closed the door and even the monster\lich whatever is dead the door will not open.

Anyone know, or is there another way around this.

Actually that exists even in LAN games I've played in 1.3. Lag isn't as bad I'm sure but the rest happens a lot. Oddly I could play SP fine on my secondary computer before I upgraded computer but playin on it in MP was laggy very laggy, even after upgrading computer it gets annoying once in awhile...

Personally, I don't care about character customization. I just want the game to have all the missing content inside it fixed and enjoyable to play.

If the character customization is what delayed this patch, I'm going to be disappointed. Who gives a rat's *** about what your character looks like compared to more important problems this game has?

New to version 1.4:
"There's now an "I give up" button on the top left side of your screen, when you hit a bug in the game, press it and the end game scene will be played and credits shall roll".
Ta-da, then all your gotta do is go play a REAL game.... You finished Dungeon Lords, why play it again.

Obviously it was far too much to expect that they add a few small face skins to the character customization feature. One of the explanations of the patch delay was that the devs had to add art content. How long might it take to give an existing texture an alternate colour tone? I don't get it. :(

Yes i agree, "Who gives a rat's *** about what your character looks like"
I like playing a magic user and i want at least all the spells that where promases in the game.
