Hi everyone, does PK have motionblur?

What does the 'Warp Effects' setting do? I just turned it on, and do not notice anything. I ask this, because I found a picture that looks like it was taken in-game on abandoned factory. There is some motion blur going on in the picture - its a pic from the extras on the PK Black disc. Is the blur edited into the pic, or is PK itself doing the blurring?

Thanks.

Warp effects are showcased the most in "Military Base", their a kind of heat warp effect, motion blur is when you get hit by an enemy, a kind of double vision thing.

I will go further to say motion blur has other uses, but as mentioned, it is not the same as Warp, which essentially is heat haze effect.

Motion blur probably most commonly applies to taking hits, representing the resulting blurred vision from the trauma. It can also however, be displayed as a representation of transformation, (such as Demon Morph), and in some games represents very fast speeds having a blur effect once again on your vision, but due to the sheer speed itself.

Conversely, it can also apply to the world around you moving slower in any given buzz words given for enhanced character speed.

Need For Speed Underground 2 and Need For Speed Most Wanted are two games with blur to show high speed. F.E.A.R. and Star Wars Jedi Outcast are two games where the world slowing around you is shown in blur in their SlowMo and Force Speed effects.

I'm using 3D glasses and I want to disble this effect, because it remove the stereo effect.
Is there any way to disable this motion blur effect, in console or config file?

When you say the stereo is affected by it, when does the sound change? Does it happen while youare playing (stereo cutting in and out) or do your sound settings reset if you select certain video settings?

You can turn off Warp in game in the avanved video settings, but it will only increase your FPS for the most part in scenes that have fires.

I seem to recall something having been said about the blur that happens when Daniel is injured being something you can disable with certain script changes, but I don't know how it's done if it is possible.

motion blur is what the next gen video cards hopefully will support one day. that is what allows television to look smooth at 30 fps, but lack of it makes video games look jerky. i think what PK has is the heat wave effect, best seen on abandoned factory/military base by the grenade/flame throwing commandos.

I think Sir C was referring to the stereo optical effect created by 3D glasses. With Blur and heat haze effects, the system (or the human eyes) may not be able to differentiate the two distinct views through that effect. This could cause the depth perception to fail when looking at or through that effect.

edit: I see Sir C has provide a more detailed description of the Optical Stereo effect in another thread.

The goal is to make the broadcast look more clear, not blurrier.

Yes, you can find it here http://www.dreamcatchergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26474

And there are no confussion:
interlacing is a video driver/hardware feature
blur is a game effect

"motion blur is what the next gen video cards hopefully will support one day. that is what allows television to look smooth at 30 fps, but lack of it makes video games look jerky."

The above statement tends to imply that motion blur and interlacing are one and the same, which they are not.
