Yeah I heard about the CE coming out soon.
Like many of you...I wanted to love this game.
Like many of you... I was kicked in the nuts.
I bought the game...and after playing awhile..uninstalled it !
What a crap fest!
I ended up giving it away..
My problem now is...I'm bored!
I have also heard that some have actually had a good time with it....or was I just imagining this?
Is the game playable?
I realize that many of the promised features are never going to be implemented.
I'm a die hard RPGer and am willing to suffer a little...but not where I smash my keyboard against the moniter in rage as another mighty bug squashes and enjoyment I might have.
Should I wait ( I found the game for 19.99) for the patch ?( of course maybe the time it comes out I'll be playing Oblivion)
Boredom has it's down sides...desperation to role play ( I don't like MMOs)
What to do?

Yes, definitely wait until you hear some feedback on the patch before putting any more money into it!
If you like to role play, you might be interested in the remake project for Ultima 5. Its a total remake of the classic RPG using the dungeon siege engine.
Its planned to be released next week so check it out....
This thread will probably be locked soon though....

i strongly vote against buying it ever, there are way better games out there with devs and publisher who actually care about there costumers, they deserve this money way more than the devs and publisher here, you know the situatiuon if you support it now, theres a good chance that they try it again and again.

Aren't you grown up enough to start making decisions for yourself? Do you really need someone else to tell you whether to buy this or not?

Um...it was just a simple question.
Personally, I was enjoying this game. Of course I am now completely stuck because I can't get past the jump sequence (over 100 tries to date) in the Shadow Ruins, so the game came to a screeching halt for me, and I'm not likely to be able to finish as a result.
But the game is no better or worse than most - look, it's an average game. It had the potential to be a lot more than it is, but that's obvious from a lot of the posts here. But if you like a lot of combat and a decent character development system, then you might like this game.

If you decide to buy it wait for the Collector's Edition so you will get all the content without having to pay for it twice.

my advice, wait to see if 1.4 ever comes out... if not, spend money elsewhere.

Why do people like you even reply?
Your the one who needs to grow up!
Your response is childish and inane...
Can you spell "Inane"?...I N A N E !
I was asking if the game was in a playble form?
Whether it was worth buying yet?
If enough of the bugs had been squashed to a least make it worth buying?
That's what the forum is for...asking questions!
Of course I should expect responses from people like you...

Personally I recommend waiting - can't you break out BG2 or Fallout or VtM: Bloodlines or something to replay to pass the time?

The dungeons are very good. The feeling is like like Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Stonekeep.
The jump sequenze is more a riddle, than a run&jump sequenz. Observe and you will learn. :) I need only one hour.
Of course the combats are very, very good. If you will play with a unmaterial arts char, you will have many fun. No one other RPG offers that.

I recommend "The Temple of Elemental Evil" with the latest Circle of Eight additions... very nice to see the gaming community cares about an engine that has REAL potential. In fact, I read that they are remaking "The Keep on the Borderlands" using the same game engine. T' would be sweet!

Ok, I will start a business and follow you around to answer all your questions as you go through life. I do have to charge by the hour for this service though, and I can't guarantee 100% accuracy on all answers throughout your lifetime.

My DL sabaticals have been Gothic 2 and Guild Wars; both are excellent and succeed in ways that DL should have... I was never interested in MMOs before giving Guild Wars a try but now I'm converted. It's fun enough just to try soloing through, though human parties can make thing easier... or more difficult...but always more interesting. Most importantly: no fees and it plays well over dial-up.
As for DL, I'm thinking War Witch just as soon as customization works.

in my case , i reloaded Neverwinter Nights and started a game with Gothic 2 Gold.
Temple of elemental evil is very nice indeed , i recently downloaded the lastest fan-made patch and keep it on hold for later.
Stonekeep... that was a pretty darn fun game.
I loved that game. I'm surprised anyone remembers it, it was quite a while ago, and never made big headlines (or not for long) in the gaming press.

Good to hear. I may replay...

I remember that game, also. It came in a box shaped like a dungeon entrance or door.

Anyone played Nox? I like it a lot.
I might give TOEE another try with this CO8 thing. I played it from start to finish after the latest patch came out and fixed those horrid game-stopping bugs. ****, it was fun.

That was a blast - I just played it earlier this year ...also picked up Revenant, but only got somewhat through it ...

Actually, it was pretty heavily advertised as I recall. I remember E3 footage that was impressive. I also love Eye of the Beholder... ah the memories...
My first PC graphical (non ascii style) role playing experience was Pool of Radiance on a IBM XT computer... the whole game came on two floppies as I recall (?) and oh what fun I had! Another great memory was Ultima 7: The Black Gate.... a fantastic game to be sure.

Any of you guys owned a TI/99-4A back in the day? Tunnels of Doom kicked a**!! I still play it a little with an emulator. Back when games made you earn the win, instead of doing everything they could to hand it to you...

i have it , the box is shaped like a tomb stone with a hologram on it. Im not sure if every box had it but i got a book called '' Thera Awaking '' , a 126 pages novel with the game.

I liked Nox quite a bit. It was clean and well designed and fun. Did not break a lot of new ground, (can you say Diablo? - I knew you could), but was darn addicting to play.

I so loved Stonekeep, I mailed my copy to an IRC friend and she lost it when she moved :(.. If only I could get my hands on another copy, I'd play it again to kill off my bordom from waiting for this patch that gets promised in a couple more weeks at least once every couple of weeks.
