No, I'm not being sarcastic. I'm not trying to be funny. I'm not doing crack, weed, pot, smack, crystal meth, (You get the point). I just think that there has been a lot of negativity lately (For just cause, mind you. I'm not criticizing anyone for speaking negatively when one is right to do so) and I thought I'd start a more positive thread just for a change of pace.

While it is lacking in every area, and there are a lot of bugs that can stop the game (Just happened to me recently) I still like what they managed to put in it.

The first thing I like: It has a lot of skill-based action. This is different than your usual point-and-click affair, which can get rather boring after a shorter time. In this game you can challenge yourself in different ways based on the action aspect of this game. Here's some suggestions:

-Don't like auto-aiming arrows? Turn off the aiming cone.
-Limit yourself to using smaller or less damaging weapons.
-Crank up the spawning for some extra challenge.

What's great about this game is it sometimes inspires a feeling of being overwhelmed. Granted, some people don't like this feeling, but in a game environment it's almost an amazing feeling when you get overrun by a horde of 30 enemies and all you can do is hack and slash at the one nearest to you to survive.

Another thing I like is the skill system. I like the fact that if you are patient and careful enough to save up the points then you can just continue progressing in a certain skill until your heart's content. I've had mages that were so powerful that they could only be fathomed about as being the "big bad guy" in most other games. This difference here is that in this game it's fun because if given enough numbers the enemies can STILL overwhelm you almost regardless of how powerful you become.

While the multiplayer is buggy and unplayable on the internet I still got a lot of it done through LAN, and it was fun. I mean, I only played this game at first because of that aspect. The funny thing is that this game has something that even epic titles such as Elderscrolls doesn't have: multiplay. If Elderscrolls had decent, functional multiplayer would I drop this game in a heartbeat? Yes. Does Elderscrolls have multiplayer? No, and that's the point. For the time being this game has something that Elderscrolls doesn't.

There you have a few of the things I like about this game even in the sad state it is in. I ask that everyone post something they like about the game for a change and actually be somewhat serious about it. At least 'try' to stay on topic: don't post things "I like this game because it felt great to delete it off my hard drive." We've all heard this sort of thing many times before and it, quite frankly, isn't funny.

What if you ordered a steak dinner at an expensive restaurant and when they brought you the dish it contained no steak, the salad was good, the sides were decent but the main part of the dish was missing in action. Would you pay for the meal? would you say "well, the parts that actually came were good, oh well". This game, while it may be enjoyable at times, is unequivocally and irrevocably a BAD game and a BAD reflection on those who had any part in it's production. One or two redeeming qualities does not make up for a shoddy product, video games or otherwise. Another thing that people, myself included, are pissed about is the inexplicable delay w/ patch 1.4. Not only did these numbskulls knowingly put out a unfinished product, they, for all intents and purposes, lied about patching it and have the nerve to slap on a patch and a fancy new box and fob it off as a "collectors edition". These people are nothing short of crooks in my opinion.

You want me to say something positive? Okay, I’m positive that DC and HP had (and still have) every intention of bilking the public of their hard earned money. They knew the game was unfinished and that people would be unable/unwilling to play an unfinished game, but they sold it anyway. If they had a shred of decency they would have pulled the game off shelves and taken on the chin like men. They messed up and WE paid for it.

Salmoncat, there are plenty of threads that talk about all of this stuff you mention. I'm not saying that what you have pointed out here isn't true, it very well could be.. I'm just asking people to 'focus' a little. I know it's difficult when everyone is over the top in anger right now, but at least try.

And I asked you to say something positive about the game itself ;p

well to be honest, i dont like this game and i probably never will because there is little affort from the devolpers to make a real rpg as it was advertised out of this, there is to mutch wrong with this game for me to like it, starting with the atmosphere and the lack of everthing imersive in this game, i dont play rpgs to gather as mutch loot as i can or hack and slay my enemys to death without a meaning ,i play them because i like to get immersed in a world different then reality where i can be whatever i want and thats very hard in this game.i do like some aspects of it, i wouldnt be here if that wouldnt be the case, but its not enough to say that i like it, its probably the most incomplete and poorly made rpg or even game i came across so far,and thats the best i can say about it ...
