im thinking of buying Dungeon lords, but ive got some questions:

1: Can you personalize you character (Face, hair color, skin color....)?

2: Can you ride (horses or maybe a dragon)?

3: Ive seen the trailer and it shows some realy cool animations, does character animation includes jumping?

4: Is there a posibility of creating or personalising a mod?

5: Does the game bring a server tool?

That would be it...

1. No. (Wait for patch 1.4, then that'll be possible.)
2. No.
3. Yes.
4. No. (It is possible to edit existing textures, but it ain't user friendly editing.)
5. No.

If the game doesnt bring a server tool, how do you create online campaigns?

Is there an existing date for the release of the new patch?

One more question...

If im a warrior, can i use bows?

You create a multiplayer game, one player hosts the game and the others connect to him.

Good question, we would like to know the date too... Oh well.

Yes, you can.

In it's present condition, ie no patch 1.4, there are too many things that don't work, (certain spells), or game features and content that are missing.

In short you would be buying a game that is way short of what you would be paying for.

It is certainly playable though, (some even enjoy it), though most find it extremely frustrating to play as is.

You could wait until the 'Collectors Edition' is released, as according to the advertising hype, it may be closer to what the game was intended to be.

I don't use the term "may be" lightly, as the current version of the game falls way short of the 'hype' prior to it's release.

Take the time to browse this forum, also as the points I have mentioned are raised time and time again in much more detail.

In short don't waist your money.

Cheers.

I'd like to present a different angle. :D

It all depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a deep RPG with lots of role playing and alternative paths and interesting quests, this game is not for you. If, on the other hand, you're looking for great action with a few gameplay elements that go deeper (e.g. char development), then I'd download the demo and try it out. By the end of the pretty lengthy demo, you should have a good idea of whether the game is for you, gameplay-wise.

I found the game very compelling and fun to play, despite its obviously unfinished condition. In fact, it was the first game in a while that I felt compelled to finish and replay (once that d*mn 1.4 comes out). Especially the combat. I've never felt so in control and like I could make meaningful tactical decisions in the real-time fantasy combat genre.

Bottom line, I think it's definitely worth $20 as of v1.3. Much more than that would be hard to justify, imho.

Are you insane? Have you not read a single thread in this forum? The game is unfinished, and as far as I'm concerned, unsupported. It shouldn’t even be "for sale" anymore. Buying this game after perusing this forum is akin to buying a meal in a restaurant after seeing dozens of patrons being brought out on stretchers.

Jeez

They only differ in answer 5.
And you are utterly wrong in saying the game comes with a server tool.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
