Version 1.4 revolution

I just downloaded the german 1.4 patch. i am proud to say that it has show remarkable improvement from 1.3. in fact id even say the game could now be considered completed. though i dont understand german i can say that by far my gaming experience with dl has improved. so everyone get ready because when the us patch comes out im sure youll be more than just pleased.

Too me, adding content is more important because the game feels so unfinished and empty.

Afaik u can change the look of ur char. Additional furniture or NPC's r missing.

Definitely a shortcoming that I'm very doubtful will be fixed, even in the CE. While I don't understand why they couldn't just throw some furniture in and add the missing fire-place fires in an afternoon, they've sent the pretty clear message all along that they just aren't going to do it. Oh well... :confused:

I have been very quiet and very patient, but if the patch doesn't include the basics (i.e. some f-in visual content) I am really going to be upset. I can live with game bugs, and I can certainly live with out character customization, but not with out content. Simply un-acceptable. Of course, what the f can I do about it. Nothing, other then to move on to another game and stop holding my breath. Regardless of the reasoning, it simply sickens my stomach to be so taken advantage of. Again, not like there is a thing we can do about it.

I have kept hope, and been patient, but enough is enough. DL was the most expensive piece of plastic I have ever spent my hard earned money on. It was my first pre-order, and my last. What a sheet azz experience.

Thank you all for the entertaining threads about this being such a good game, and that it really IS good, even know it has it problems. One can only wade through so much bullshit for so long. So.......So long.

I absolutely cannot live without character customization. I better **** well like the choices I get for humans alone, not just one human clone...

well my bigest reasion for not playing is that all of the spells where not in the game i play magic users when i play games. I also like to collect all the spells for my guy. so if all the spells that where put in the game i would play the game again
I'm sure theres other stuff that was suposed to be in the game but i list my instruction so i cant think of any other things right now.

So we can all agree, there is something left out for *everyone* in this misunderstood title. (except maybe George) Maybe there is a subliminal meaning here, or they just wanted all of us to share in its inability to please the casual gamer, the hardcore gamer, and the hopeful gamer.

Furniture and npcs qualify as "minor changes" they were all added.

Yes all the spells were added. just trust me i said YOU WILL BE PLEASED what part of that didnt you guys understand. NOTHING is left out. I am a mage as Well in all of my rpgs. all of the missing spell were added.

That was to me the biggest thing that could be changed and it was. you can now choose the skin color of your character as well as handednes hair color facial hair length and hir length. an as with 1.3 your class race and gender.

I dont know what went wrongwith everyone elses patch but mine still has speach so i cant answer that. and to Madroth if i ate cornflakes id say yes but considering that i dont then i guess the answers no

Check the Here's Something To Do thread. It has all the info you need to get the German 1.4 patch installed over the English 1.3 and working. There is a link there to a batch file that can be downloaded that will change all the wav files from EC to GC so the German patch can play them. :)

rune, so when you go into building in the elven city you see lots of furniture? just one bed per room or more? In shops you see furniture? there are NPCs walking around town more? more building you can enter as NPC homes? Please explain in more detail :D

Edit: Oh and do you mean you actuall get to play as a mage or a fighter that throws a spell every forth kill. Go bankrupt buying enough spells so you can attack every third creature with a spell? Knock back enemies over mountains through woods and to ... While trying to kill them with spells?

I got a few more npcs in fargrove and more campfires out in the woods. also there is more furniture in fargrove. this is only in fargrove however in arindale things still seem empty. also there are 2 new guards patrolling skulldoon.
And yo chill i just said spells like death cloud ect. were added

If they wanted to make us happy they should have released the game in a finished state as it was SUPPOSED to be! Not sold us some piece of S*** game that they only did a Halfa** job on.

I can confidently recommend Gothic / Gothic 2 . These games were complete as originally delivered.

this is my first post since ever, I have kept my patience till today, it has been 2 days since DL promised us our patch 1.4 and still i don't see a f*cking thing.

How long are we supposed to wait while the germans are playing their games?(no offence)

While the work of the community is commendable, the game still has 98% of its faults and foibles. For a short time I was enjoying it after the 1.4 patch, but now have returned to the previous state of animosity that I held for the devs prior to the community patch. Sadly, I don't think I'll ever finish the game, as the game itself is entirely unfinished. Besides, the whole Fu Man Chu Oriental Adventures stuff in the game just bugs me.
