3D Stereo is the capacity of see things in true 3D, it means whit perception of depth, as you see in real life, because you have 2 eyes and they see in 2 diffrent perspectives.

You can achieve 3D Stereo in games, and PAINKILLER is no exeption, in fact, this game looks oustanding with 3D Stereo.

There are some methods to see in 3D Stereo:
. Anaglyphs: Red-Cyan paper glasses (those for 3d movies) cheaper, but lose the color
. Shutter glasses: specially desgnated glasses whit lyquid cristal that sync with the monitor to see the efect. Expensive but in full color (http://www.edimensional.com)
. Parallel and Crosseye views. you can achive whit your oun eyes, but not for long times.
. Others

Here are som examples of this using PAINKILLER: (to see the pictures in 3D Stereo you need one of those red-cyan paper glasses)

In order to achieve this you need:
. Nvidia Card whit his consumer 3D stereo drivers (http://nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp) this is the only card in the market that support 3D stereo for games.
. The methode that most accomodate to you. (see above).

And this is just a still picture, you must see the action in full motion, with all the gore and bullets coming to you, specially the bosses, they looks really really huge.

I was thinking about this long time ago but i dont have the knowlege and just thought its impossible.

Wellcome to the forum. Ur thread is one of the best since a while.

I like to ask u some questions about it:
1.) it just work on Nvidia card, (i got a ATI = no hope for me?)
2.) does it slow the game down (less FPS or lags?)
3.) does it work with other games too?

Well I never try an Ati card since I have always been a Nvidia user (I use 3D stereo since my first Nvidia, a Geforce 2 MX), but you can find very useful information here:

About slowing down the fps the answer is yes, because the stereo driver have to render the scene twice, from 2 difrent perpectives. The good part is that this slow down is not much, about 80 percent (depends on hardware). For example in my rig doom 3 at 800 x 600 the time demo is 71 fps, in 3D stereo is 52 fps that is very playable.

And it works almost in every Direct 3D and OpenGL games you can find screeshots and stereo game configurations and application here:
