Dungeon Lords could still be a great game if some advanced modding tools were released. I didnt really like morrowind until I downloaded or created the right mods for it. What do other people think about this?

Will there be any mod tools available at launch or in the future?

Mark Harwood:No mod tools are planned for launch, although if the user demand is there, we won't rule it out for the future.

Morrowind is a game that was designed to be moded and I agree that the fan mods certainly add a lot to the game. I am looking forward to Oblivion and hope that it too has great mod tools.

I agree that DL is also the type of game for which mods would be a great boon. There is plenty of room for more quests in town and more caves/ruins/ect out of town to explore. Fan based content adds to the life and success of a game. I don't understand why more companies don't make their products easier for fans to mod.

Well, the bad news is that NWN2 will use the same 3D modeling tool like DL and a lot of other games do. DL was built with RAD games tools (http://www.radgametools.com/): granny 3D, miles sound system and bink video. Especially the good old granny is not a favorite of the 'mod gurus'. Unless you have SDK licenses it is not easy or legal to change the content generated with these tools ... and a license costs you about a leg and an arm (upward of 12.000 $). So, if i understand it right (what i found on the web) there will not be any advanced mods for DL. Out on the web there are character and save editors but i guess that's about all that will be there.

Let's hope for Gothic 3, Oblivion or Dark Messiah of M&M.

I downloaded a granny2 model viewer from the RAD page and found some interesting stuff. Did anybody of you see the model 'anigun.gr2' somewhere in the game? There must be a secret level ;)
