I can't save game.
I played the normal difficuity and i beat the final boss.
But when i go nightmare the game won't save.
I press QuickSave.It says saved and when I go to other level,
There are supposed to be a automatic save right?
But when I check the Save/Load section.
IT WAS ALL GONEEEEEE!!!

Need some help.

All your saves were gone? How many folders are in your savegame directory?
I ask because the developers did a retarded thing of allowing 999 quicksaves, you know, 2 is enough for most people.

Yeah, non-patched Painkiller versions had that kind of save problems. I've heard that in worst cases all saves become permanently corrupted, but the latest patches should fix those problems.

Actually, you guarantee savegame corruption by updating the game.
And I´ve never heard of this problem before, savegames shouldn´t be deleted automaticly, something must have happened.

my BOOH saves are not being saved! neither autosave nor quick save although the latter says it is.
looking at the savegames folder i have saved games running from 001 to 999 but the majority do not have data in them.
i have just loaded patch 1.64 and it makes no difference. i would like a solution which lets me keep all tarot cards!!
what about if i move the saved game data from folder 999 to say 899, 998 to 898 etc?
any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

back in game!! I tried the Kalme compactor program which for some reason could not access my empty saved games folders to delete them. so I deleted all empty folders and ran the compacter again and it renumbered the remainder. now all saves seem to be working properly.

I suggest from now on to regularly delete old quicksaves and use the compactor to delete and re-number empty save folders. :)
Using manual saving is the best method evar!! :p
