Are Ur graficdrivers up to date?
What version is Ur game?
And what is a Athlon 393?

Yes...and check and reinstall DirectX 9.0c (especially it looks like you've problems with correctly displaying of the alpha channel of dds and/or tga -files) and maybe you've to reinstall the game too. (Can you copy your CD to HDD? because it seems to be that something went wrong during installation)

At least one idea...change your desktop color resolution 16/32 and test the menu again..

This might be hardware related, I got these graphical errors when I was using a Geforce 2 with the game.

I´ve never heard of Athlon 393 either, he probably means 939 which is the latest socket for the AMD64.

U have the Black Edition and patched 1.61 / 1.62 and then 1.64 (recommendet)?

Try these tips.
1) Install latest drivers for all hardware if you have not done so already
2) UnInstall the game, and reInstall it, then apply patches 1.61, 1.62 and 1.64
3) I suggest downloading the patches from www.gamershell.com, their downloads are bug-free
4) Give us more detailed system info. I need to know more than AMD 939, I need know the speed of the processor for example. Click Start and go to run, type dxdiag and click Ok, then read about your system and post here

Hopefully we will dig up the problem with one or more of these tips. :)

Ineresting choice for mainboard and vidio.
If you have exhasted the possabilitys of drivers as the cause then you may want to recheck your bios settings focusing on the the video and related settings.
A little checking around the forums for your mainboard may reveal some issues as well as veiwing the site faq.

After thought: since your useing the NV chipset increaseing the PCI to AGP mhz in bios may improve perfomence too, I dont know what the default is set at but start with 75.
