Alright, the framerate that I am experiencing is causing the game to become unplayable. My computer is quite capable of playing this game, being as I have played games with higher requirements. I have played at the highest and lowest settings and the issue remains at both. I believe that the problem lies in the compatability with my video card. I had a similar issue with Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, and it was remedied by changing a setting in the hardware.ini file. I would like to know if there is a similar file that would allow me to fix this. My video card is a NVidia GE Force FX 5600 with 256 MB of RAM.

If you are running version 1.5 or above, you are experiencing shader model 3.0 slowdowns. The very same thing happened to me, I have a 256 Mb GeforceFX 5700 LE, so our cards arenīt far from being identical.
Turning off the normal options wonīt help at all. You will see difference by turning off the following.
"Dynamic Lighting"
"Bloom"
"Warp Effects"
I turned those off and the game ran very smoothly on max settings, 800 x 600, no AA/AF/V-Sync.
