Hello, i am having a problem with pk.
I searched the forum for a similar problem, found an topic, but it's outdated and nothing clear was said into it.
So, wednesday, i spoke with a friend of mine, to play the game and see who's going to finish it first.
I am running painkiller black edition, and thursday evening at 10pm the game crashed at the abandoned factory, after the third checkpoint, when i get into the demon mode.
Ironically, reading the previous topic, i wanted to make sure if it's only the demon, mode, but it's not, as i tried to avoid collecting the souls and entering the demon mode, by just fragging. The game crashed without the demon mode as well, but on top of all, the crash seems to happen at almost the same time. I counted it, and it happens at 2m:03s after i passed the checkpoint with or without demon mode.
Strange enough now it's 9:30 am saturday, and my friend messages me WITH the same problem. Since i read here that there were problems in this chapter, i'm thinking it's not a pc related issue, but a game related issue. Maybe a bug or something.
Does anyone has any ideas how to slove this problem?
System:
AMD X2-4000+
7800GTX (PCI-E) (Zalman VF700-Cu cooler setup)
2GB Corsair XMS-Pro
2x 250GB Maxtor Diamond 9
Running windows XP Pro with SP2
-Pk is updated to 1.64
-Videocard drivers up to date
-DirectX up to date.
-Ran dxdiag, and test was ok
-Quake 4, Doom 3, F.E.A.R., UT2k4 are running without any problems.
-No overheating problems at all Proc on idle @38 C--painkiller on 44C, and the vid-card 51 C idle with 62C pk on)
