Should Dreamcatcher make the content of CE available in a patch to legitimate version 1.0 - 1.4 owners?
I say HEL* yes.

I would say yes.

That would be nice. But I believe all 3 discs of CE has some reprogramming. The terrain doesn't look the exact same. Some of the pathways are elevated, rather than the relative flatness of the land in older versions. Probably the reason CE took so long was a general overhaul of all the discs' contents.
Discs 1 and 2 are same size content as older versions, and disc 3 is 100 mb larger than the older disc. So I thought, what if the only difference between 1.0 to 1.4 and CE was disc 3. To Test this theory, I installed with old discs 1 and 2 and CE disc 3. Know what? That was a big mistake. Had to uninstall, then reinstall with CE only :o

That's just because the compression software chops it into chunks the same size. If you really want to find out which files differ you need to install both DL 1.4 and DL CE and compare the folders using a file comparison software like allwayssync from http://allwaysync.com/

I would have no problem paying a small handling fee for disk replacement to get the CE. I won't pay another $40, though.
Mike
Not putting another cent into this game but would like to see the finished version of what I paid for already :/

I'd rather the content came with another update, to prevent complications between the CE and the original.
I've heard that the two conflict with each other if you try to install the CE into the original, so putting it all in a patch would be more convenient, don't you think?

I suppose a CD is the only option for those with dial-up connections .. but they could offer the content and updated manual as a digital download to customers with broadband. Although to be honest I don’t see either happening. The CE was created for the explicit purpose of recouping losses. I doubt they’ll give it away for free. Customer satisfaction ( and the satisfaction garnered from a job well done) don’t seem to be high on their list of priorities.

Considering how blatantly unfinished this game really is, they should feel like scum charging for more content LOL.

Take a look at Dreamcatcher's excuse in another thread when someone wrote tech support an email. They don't want to replace any of the original purchaser's games unless they bought it from their online store in the last 30 days. What a crock.

They just sold 10 copies because I got rid of my old version and bought the new. While the rest of you stay here and complain about a version you haven't even played yet, I'll be away enjoying the game. Don't get too depressed over it and kill yourselves. I worry about some of you.

Maybe, but I suckered my old copy onto someone and recouped most of the money. They are having a blast playing version 1.4 and I'm having a blast playing version 1.5
When crooks create a broken game, someone is going to get screwed. It's just not going to be me in the long run.

Well I can think my brother for my copy
It’s a new broken game to complain about.
Like this one I’m 1 relic away from beating the game and I still see missing spells.

It's a blast for me because I have made it further into the game than I did with version 1.3
I didn't want to play it at all until most of the mess was fixed so this is like a new game to me since I only played the old version so far and stopped. It's been entertaining to go through the storyline and quests so far.

I really don't want to pay twice for a game I thought I had bought already. An expansion, ok. Lots of new content, sure. BUT NOT PAY TWICE TO GET MY BROKEN GAME FIXED.
****, that's annoying. I really didn't think Dreamcatcher would do it this way, I honestly thought I would get one huge last patch that would bring us unfortunate pre-order fools up-to-date with the Collector's Edition.
Sucks to be me, I guess.

So, have you played the CE all the way through yet? Is there a lot still broken?
I have played the CE about 40-50% and have found two buttons that did not work.... everything else has worked as promised... including spells etc.

Which buttons?
I just started CE and at first noticed that 2 buttons in the catacombs didn't seem to work. But when I put a point into my scout skill they worked fine!
I have a feeling that lots of things in CE won't work until you have certain skills or other requirements.
Nope... these buttons don't work :)
One is in the Theatre after the sewers (Fargrove), a button used to open a door on the floor below... and the other is in the Fathien castle on the ground floor.

I'm new to Dungeon Lords, and, based on what you all are saying, I am glad I bought the Dungeon Lords CE and not the original. I'm enjoying the game, but it really makes me want to play Morrowind again... anyway this game should be less than $40 though.

Yes, me too! If only you could merge the good features of DL CE with the good features of Morrowind you would have a great game! Examples: the dungeons and magic system and combat of DL with the quests, cities, and NPC's of MW.
Well, Oblivion is coming soon! I sure hope they have better dungeons than Morrowind.
