I'm currently playing both versions to compare the general gameplay. CE isn't a lot different, except for lots of trees, bushes, and other objects getting in the way. It's a pretty wild trip to, for instance, play through the Elven Lands and Arindale with CE, then immediately do the same thing in version 1.4.
