Catacomb Vines

Hi evryone,
Finally got my computer upgraded so I can play Painkiller at last. I'm addicted all ready! But after spending about four hours trying to jump across to the vines in the catacombs, it has me wondering if I am dificient with manual dexterity or if it is next to impossible to do. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. It's good to see we still have new PC players. I can't help feeling that you'll have a better experience than our XBox compatriots.

The vine jump is just darn hard. Better players than me have various ways of doing it. See http://dreamcatcherinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26670 . You can either persevere and land on the little spurs on the vines or jump from pillar to pillar with the Speed Tarot Card. I've seen a number of vids. You'll definitely find one here http://www.painkillerhell.com/ .

If this is your first time through, you might like to earn a few cards, first, and then go back to get the tough secrets like this one. And if this is your first try, then you've got plenty of equally tough secrets ahead of you :).

normal jump is from Kalme, vine pkjumps are from Artas, speed card jump was recorded by me and the crushing pillar jump must be from you, pool :p
I haven't seen kalme around here for a long time but he visits www.darkscorner.de/forums quite often.

The crushing pillar is no my vid, but my rus friend magnum 16. The idea was by my former girlfriend Lenok. And mag just recorded it( and SYS hold the vid on his hosting). :D

Anyway the "crushing pillar"-method is very nice! I tried it out and it worked for the first try! Maybe it needs luck also in some case, but I think it's really worth a try, cause it's fun... ;)

I also found and recorded the crushing pillar method awhile ago but when I sent it to SYS, he said that you, pool had already sent him a same kind of video so that's why I thought it was made by you :p And I also used that clip for my website, not the one I made myself ;)

Very nice Pool, I'll host this in the near future for sure: we had run out of disk space on our server currently, but soon we'll change the currently 80 GB HDD to a 300 GB one... So then I'll upload this video to there... ;)

The video is around 2.4 MB big and it's in 640x480..I think it was recorded with full size. One more thing I must admit: I tried this method already a lot, but I still haven't made it! This is very amusing, because I could record the successful cone-jump to reach the Balcony-Secret on City On Water last week (will be shown in E3 for fun). But I couldn't reproduce this climbing-method. It seems, I'm the lamest with these climbing-methods... :D Or rather I just wasn't enough patient, so next time I'll force myself to keep trying until it's done...

blah... I`ve come back to painkiller and found myself the pillar way... I was hoping that I`ve found something new but I see that you already know this.. Well no point in placing video then :)
