Ok, i don't know if developers are reading these forums and if they are still willing to make any patches for Painkiller after all this time but here's the idea thats "bothering" me ever since i've seen first Ageia demos (though those suck big time). I even registered here because of this hehe
Physics in Painkiller are superturbo charged, pieces are flying all over the place, corpses with ragdolls and stuff. Looks very advanced. But exploded barrels and stuff just fades away after some time. Would it be possible to impliment option called "Super Detailed Physics" (tip for the checkbox name ;) ) that would leave all the pieces of smashed stuff on the ground for later simulations if you throw grenade there or shot with rocket launcher? Or for example pieces flying from one side of the room to the other when explosions are taking place during firefights.
It appears Havok engine requires little amount of CPU power to simulate enormous amounts of flying objects, plus hardware advanced alot since the Painkiller release and Painkiller engine is also very flexible and can process massive arenas with loads of objects and characters. So this shouldn't really be a problem. Besides, this option being as optional feature wouldn't affect users with low end PCs.
This would add a completelly new wow effect to the game and i'd certanly play it once again just because of this. Man would be that great to see all the stuff flying around instead fading away :D
Anyone with me on this one? :D
