I don't admittedly visit there as often as I once did, but I visited Txb's page just now, and they've reviewed Hell Wars. See what they thought of it, by clicking here (http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox/1198/Painkiller-Hell-Wars/p1/) :)
To give this thread a bit more purpose, i'd also like to find out what it is about Painkiller, that you appreciate most? What it is that it does, that makes it so appealing to you to play?
I could explain why i'm really anticipating Hell Wars' release, just by posting a screenshot (with a brief explanation, of course. ;) )

And painkiller is so appealing to me because of the deliciously twisted lvs and monsters that make it something else then a standart WW shooter.

The great graphic and textures.
The hordes of monsters and the awsome bosses.

The funny Havok2 physic.
And the fact, that U can run throu the game or go and find the crazy secrtets. Or BooHth.

I don’t recall anybody ever connecting these screenshots:
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4238/painkillerpsp12hh3.th.jpg (http://img98.imageshack.us/my.php?image=painkillerpsp12hh3.jpg)http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/8477/painkillerpsp13gz1.th.jpg (http://img154.imageshack.us/my.php?image=painkillerpsp13gz1.jpg)
to the BooH levels that can’t be loaded into PainEdit; C6L7_IceWallow and C6L8_Galleon. They’ve gotta’ be the new levels in Hell Wars… don’t you think?
There’s the Galleon (pirate ship) and the Ice Wallow which is not from the Castle. ;)
The original article is here:

PS. Thanks for the update :) gonna' take a look right now...
Oops edit: I love everything about Painkiller, the imaginative storyline, the crazy monsters, the beautiful art, awesome game physics, surreal environments, the battle of good Vs. evil. Best game EVER made! and of course the unique weapons...

Hey Machetazo, something ain’t right about that review… check out screenshots # 9 and 10 on page 17 here:
http://screenshots.teamxbox.com/gallery/576/Painkiller-Hell-Wars/p17/
Look at the HUD and the weapon, neither of which are in the final release of Painkiller, aren’t those BETA screenshots from before PK got released? In other words really really old? Lazy reviewers... :D
I could be mistaken of course, but I don’t think I am.

I read the article printed and it was much the same response as mine was the first time I played it. I didn't think i would ever get a tarrot card:o I then started logging on to this site and then the game opened up. I don't know if there is as much in the xbox game as the pc but I am not sure how many times I have played each level but it has been a lot and I still play it all the time. limiting types of weapons and changing tarrot cards change it enough to have more fun. there is a ton of strategy in this game but you probably would not realize it until you get into it. you can fire the stake gun accross a whole zone with a high arv to it but you can get pretty good at it. another thing i really like is that there is an abundance of ammo and using the painkiller helps you save ammo, you can have a lot of fun with that weapon alone. It's true that some of the mobs resurface through the game but the strategies change and each boss is a different style of battle.
there are guys here who have been playing for several years and it still sounds like they enjoy it.
the sad part for me is that it's not coming out in PC format. Although it sounds like the only change to the xbox version is a couple of new levels and that's probably why they limited it to xbox and are not bringing out in pc format.
I just came off 4 years of playing EQ on line and this is the only game that i have found that could hold my interest.

... but I visited Txb's page just now, and they've reviewed Hell Wars...
I don't know much (anything?) about consoles and their relative abilities compared to the PC. I certainly don't know what features have been implemented for PK on the console. However, this quote from the review concerned me
"...The single player game won’t offer the greatest replay value, as it is very monotonous by the end, but it is fun while it lasts. ..."
Does the console game have difficulty levels? Because insomnia/nightmare/trauma all require very different tactics and make each pass through a very different game.
Are there any locked levels?
Are there secrets and are they of the difficulty of PC PK? If you get all the secrets in one pass through, you're doing well (genius?).
Can you select and return to completed levels?
It sounds like the Tarot works very differently. Tackling levels with different Tarot set-ups is an important, strategic and fun part of the PC game
I see there's a jump key. Does this mean surfaces are 'climable'? For instance, the climb out from the megahealth below the rope bridge in Catacombs. Or like most of Varus's "Hills".
Have they implemented the stats allowing a 5* challenge or whatever? And is there any special reward?
These are rhetorical questions. I ask them because this is the stuff that has made me return to PK again and again (not usual for me). If they're not in the console game, the player will be getting a very pale imitation of 'real' PK.
Cheers

Nahhh. The screenshots are for the PS2/PSP. http://www.dreamcatchergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27828
And the other screenshots U mentioned realy looking bit beta like from the pc version. Good eye.
It would be nice if someone could answer Greybeards questions and maybe tell Us the complete list of levels ... maybe some screenshots. THX.

The review that TXB gave of PK was terrible IMO. After having played the PC version for 2 years and played Multiplayer for that long too, TXB did a very crappy review of the game that makes me feel they didn't even play it.
They did one small 5 sentence brief on the multiplayer game, the most important aspect of the game. I can't believe they reviewed it the way they did.
