Painkiller for Xbox even out yet?

It's suppose to be out today yet every single game website: Bestbuy.com, Gamestop.com, Ebgames.com, Walmart.com all have different release dates and don't even show the game as being in stock.

This is really annoying. I'm really wanting to buy this game yet it doesnt seem to ever get released.

It's gone Gold correct? So shouldn't it be out today?

Bestbuy.com last night said it was in stock, but now this morning it says Pre-order.

Ever company gets shipments at different times, plus they stock at different times. Bestbuy could put it on their shelves next month if they wanted to.

Im online right now so far as I can tell:

+13 levels!!!
+Duel mode!
+DM_Meatless!!
+Left click jumps!
+No leaderboards!!(good thing, no stat whores)

-No bright skins
-No dedicated hosts

setup is pretty much the same as the pc version. well done bgaum and crew! Ill post more as I find it out.

I'd like to point out some bugs and hopefully a mod can help me.

1. There's no Brightskins option, was this left out intentionally?
2. The control configs are weird. It's not allowing me to use the XYBA or Black and Clear buttons as my weapon switching. It gives an option for Wep Selc/Say All on the black button, but when I press it, nothing happens.
3. Voice chat in-game doesnt seem to be working. I press the voice button, I think it's the black one, but it's not working. I can't hear anyone, they can't hear me. I am able to send voice msgs in the friends list of the game though and I press play to hear myself playback and it works.
4. I turned off the battle music that plays in the background and the ambient music, but it's still playing in the background of Free For All mode.

My main annoyance though is the D-pad being used for weapon switching. I would like to be able to switch weapons with the other buttons so I don't have to take my thumb off of the left stick. In order to switch weapons right now, I have to use my right hand and that's very uncomfortable.


Other than those bugs, I think the game is awesome. I'm glad there is no auto-aiming, comes down to pure skill. Awesome job on the jump button being the click on the left thumbstick.

Bunnyhopping is super fast in this game, it's awesome.

Can a Mod please verfiy the bugs I have encountered? anyone else having voice problems in game?

Are you sure those are bugs or your lack of reading the instructions?

My main bug is that I cant figure out how to make X and Y buttons my weapons switching. I don't want to use the D-pad. Can someone help me on this please.

Just to let you know, if you can't switch the buttons because of the game, its impossible to since obviously you can't patch a video game on a consol. So you might want to get used to it.

Umm...tons of console games get patches dude. As long as there is LIVE enabled, you can patch.

Halo 2 has two patches
Call of Duty 2

O thats right.....XBOX....nvm....well I don't have an XBOX because I think they suck. I've never heard of patches for anything but PC and until now XBOX.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the game thus far and I’ll gladly address the concerns you’ve brought to our attention.

Bright skins were intentionally not included. The effect of bright skins has replaced the team markers that were in the original Painkiller. As a result, you will find that the effect of bright skins is active at all times during team based multiplayer modes to provide a more visually efficient method of distinguishing friend from foe.

Both the controller set up and the ability to choose from preset controller configurations are both intentional aspects of the game. The button assignments were designed for comfort and function. The main idea was to have the left thumb stick for movement, the right thumb stick for looking, the “A” “B” “X” “Y” buttons for alternative functions, leaving the D-pad for weapon use. Either way, to use the assignments on the left or right side, you would have to sacrifice thumb stick control temporarily.

Xbox Live Voice Communication is a working feature of both System Link and Xbox Live multiplayer. There are four controller configurations of which can affect your ability to use voice communication. I’ve listed the mappings to the configurations below ordered from left to right.
