I'm at the beginning of chapter 1 level 5. I'm having problems killing Necroglant, how do I defeat him?
Please help :(

you must be getting caught with his tornado attacks , do a lot of (can't believe I'm about to say/type this) ""bunnyhopping"" around him , go to the center of the arena for health/ammo if you have to, but mainly do what my friend Grinder said. ;)

Just shoot the crap out of him (the shotgun works well for this) until he breaks those chains, then activate your cards and keep shooting the crap out of him until he dies. I usually just hang between his legs (that doesn't sound right :P) and shoot his crotch. After he breaks the chains he starts doing those tornado attacks, so that why I say activate your cards then and finish him quickly before he starts giving you too much trouble.

This boss seems tough but he can be killed easily and within 2mins with no problems.
When the level starts grap the shotgun ammo that is just a little over to Ur right and then hop Ur way to the Armour. Note: I use only the shotgun for this level as it is the only weapon the can shoot fast enough to keep the pressure up on the boss. Shoot and never stop shooting at the boss! Get almost directly under him. The closer the better but then U have to be careful to not get stepped on by the boss. Now when he hits the ground U will have lots of his hoard chasing U,don't sweat this guys, just keep moving / hopping from one side of him (the boss) to the other, Don't let them catch U and all the while always looking up and shooting the boss. Never let up on him. Now eventually Ur life may get low and U may be running out of ammo, so look to the ruins with all the ammo and life power-ups. U may need to make a quick run for it, but U want to make Ur time away from the boss as short as possible. Sometimes U can get lucky and he will naturally gravitate to the ruins, take advantage of this and power and ammo up! This definately helps with killing the boss within the 2mins.
Note: Hopping makes U move faster and also when the Boss's spikes start to come out of the ground hopping will minimize the damage they do.
Lastly, once the boss has broken his chains and he starts with the tornados the only safe place is to stay close to him / almost directly under him, while always being careful not to get stepped on. And remember never stop shooting the boss, keep the pressure up.
This is the quickest and only stratagey for killing the boss within 2mins that I am aware of, except for cheat codes perhaps. Using this plan of attack I can consistantly kill the boss within 2mins.
Note: the only downside to this stratagey is being stepped on by the Boss! Ouchie Wawa!

There are other ways of killing the boss under 2 mins. Just use the tarot cards...
As for tornado atack - hide in one of those small 'houses' - their roofs prevent you from being sucked and taking damage.

Key here is bunny hopping in a circle around him but very close, frequently looking the direction you're hopping to avoid running into obstacles. You need to work in close and quickly to get the card but also avoid his spiked feet which are lethal and his macemen running after you.
As mentioned the shotgun is very effective on him, though don't bother with it's alt fire freeze. Some are very efficient at dispatching this monster quickly but none have put it in words quite so eloquently as CHFlagg, whom describes killing this beast as shooting him in the balls with the shotgun!:D

I also agree with this strategy. I've never gotten the long distance method to work, but up close, it's not bad as long as you stay behind him (I generally aim for the pooper instead of the balls).
