View Full Version : Gothic 3 Vs. Dungeon Lords.
Everyone gives Dungeon Lords a really bad name.. And in many ways it deserved and deserves it..
But I will say right now, that the long anticipated gothic 3's fighting system is a complete joke.. The blocking does NOT work, and the AI is incredibly bad. Dungeon Lords combat and fighting is 10x better..
Now, G3 likely has deeper Role Play elements and a bigger world, but I am not sure.. But the fighting.. Oh man it's horrible..
I Just thought I'd let ya's know.. DL still beats some of the crap out there in the action/combat department..

How do you know what the fighting is like if the game isn't out yet? (snicker)

Can't say too much about Gothic 3, since I haven't played it, but I just started playing the Dungeon Lords Collector's Edition and it's -easily- better than many RPGs that have come out lately. Mage Knight Apocalypse comes to mind as a particularly underwhelming title.
Frankly, I'm enjoying it more than NWN2, since my high end system can actually play Dungeon Lords with acceptable framerates (and widescreen 1680x1050 once I hacked the exe :) ) as opposed to NWN2 which runs like crap for a large number of people with great systems. Hopefully that will change, but for right now, I'm enjoying DL.

Dungeon Lords and Gothic 3 are in their own classes. DL is pretty good, but SOO cut n dry. G3 has been out in the states for 5 or 6 days now. It's somewhat like G2, but with much more and some unique gameplay.
DL 7\10, G3 9\10 !

I'm really glad to hear it! G2 was my favorite game of all time. G3 just arrived in Chicago and I bought it. I can't wait to start it, just as soon as I get a little more time --- darn real-life problems are interfering with my gaming!
