I am getting this error while trying to launch the game under win xp before and after patching to 1.7 manually :
cannot obtain procedure: wglGetExtensionsStringARB
renderer failed to created because:
OpenGL extension is not support: GL_ARB_texture_compression
OpenGL extension is not support: GL_ARB_vextex_buffer_object
OpenGL extension is not support: GL_ARB_texture_cube_map
OpenGL extension is not support: GL_ARB_vertex program
cannot create renderer
cannot initialize game
I guess im missing some sort of files or my card can't play it ? I am using an ATI Radeon 1600 pro with the latest drives from their site. My download was from fileplanet although i dont think the download was the problem.

These are the standard OpenGL extensions and your video card supports them all for sure. Obviously the problem is in your driver settings. If you are using some 3rd party tweeking utility like Riva Tuner etc, it will always override your dirver settings. If you are not using any tweeking utility software, you should reset your driver to default settings. If this doesn't help, please reinstall your driver and answer 'no' when asked if you want to keep your custom settings.

Don't want to start up a new thread so hope posting here is ok since i am featuring the same problem?
Anyways i am also featuring this problem:
cannot obtain procedure: wglGetExtensionsStringARB
renderer failed to created because:
OpenGL extension is not support: GL_ARB_texture_compression
OpenGL extension is not support: GL_ARB_vextex_buffer_object
OpenGL extension is not support: GL_ARB_texture_cube_map
OpenGL extension is not support: GL_ARB_vertex program
cannot create renderer
cannot initialize game
Though I dont use radeon, I am using "NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GS"
So do I have to set my drivers to default? Or if that don't help reinstall them?
I can PM you my DXDIAG if you want it, just to be sure.
-But I am not that much "into" computer stuff, so if I have to set my drivers to default or reinstall them, would you please tell me how to do it?
Hope you can help, I really want to play this cool game.

We have not tested the game on Intel 915GMS chips. Intel's site says the card is supporting OpenGL 1.4, but it seems that standard OpenGL extensions are disabled or not implemented at all. Can you customize any settings for the driver? What are the options there?

Thank you, now i can play the game. :D
Though the extension limit was set to "off", so I tried to set it to "on" .. well 1 error message box dissappear, but it didn't work, then when I sat it back to "off" the game worked?!?
Oh well dosen't matter really, just wanna say thanks :)

ive updated those inteli drivers and it "works" why i say it "works" becouse none of the shaders are loading and i get a ton of errors before the main menu runs and then before the game runs and all ships are in red/black squares anyway the requirements are to high to probably run it on that pc
now i got another problem im on other pc thats quite good but same error and tried reinstaling drivers and check the 3d settings like in the
http://www.dreamcatchergames.com/for...ad.php?t=29128 post and its ok but still i get the error
onemore thing my graph card GF 6800GT is broken and im using one from an old pc that is GF4 Mx440Ultra and same question is it eable to run this game on this card
instaled 91.31 forceware
running on Windows Prof x64
thx for help
Does anyone have any ideas what to do if you installed the new drivers... made sure this thing was disabled (the extension limit)... and still got all the same errors?
And I do have DirectX 9.0c.
Any ideas?
