Hello, Isaak Johnson here with a problem that I can't seem to find an answer for. I hope that some of you may be able to help me out.

I own the Black Edition of Painkiller with the single DVD instead of multiple CD-ROM's. I have it patched up to version 1.64 and I have the latest video, sound, and motherboard drivers.

I will send a DxDiag if its requested, but I do not believe you will find the answer there, for I have had Painkiller running on my system before without problems.

The problem is that my PC won't recognize when the DVD is in the DVD drive, in order to allow the game to run. When I insert my DVD, and then I go to enter the game, I only get a mesage that states "Please insert the correct CD-ROM."

I cant place the DVD in the CD-ROM Drive because DVD's cant be read from those drives, but I cant run the game from the DVD Drive because its requesting that the correct CD be inserted.

I have had this issue before with my previous install (I uninstalled Painkiller earlier to save space, then reinstalled it because I wanted to play again.) but usually I was able to overcome it and play after a few tries, sometimes more tries than others. But this time it seems permanent and I can't get my current instillation to recognise my DVD.

Thank you for your time.

sorry man, no real advice, but PK gold is now available on steam, which would be a legal way to not require a disk, although yeah, it is another $18....
