I am sure most of you are already aware that PKEURO (www.pkeuro.com) did quite a bit of work in helping map development early on.
I thought since it has been some time, it might be useful looking at the resources available to would-be mappers.
Firstly the map repository or STARTING/IN-PROGRESS/COMPLETE maps is available here:
http://www.pkeuro.com/mapping/
Secondly, guides on mapping (including the conversion method from Quake1 to PK maps - as well as UT/Q3) is available here:
http://www.pkeuro.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1
Many successful duel maps, including those in PK are generally based on the tri-atrium approach - that being three main areas separated by corridors/smaller chambers. Before you look with distain at the Quake 1 maps, it should be remembered that by PCF's own admission, both Sacred and Psycho were based on Quake 1 maps. At very least they provide a quick geometry with which to play when loaded into Maya.

Please note, in the \mapping directory on PKEURO, I have included some zips of the files required to open/edit from scratch for those learning the process from scratch. If you want my files for any of the other maps, let me know and I will look on my backup-DVDs.

For those of you just curious, there are a lot of pre-made maps (albeit at low FPS due to lack of zoning) ready for testing. If you feel any of them should be completed or altered, please feel free to do so yourself, or ballot other active mappers.
Lastly, if you want any maps included as part of the Steamfish update list, or need to contact me for any other reason, I am available on email (or MSN) on kerberos99@hotmail.com
