Hey Guys:D
I brought PK off Steam the day it came out and I have been in love with it ever since. But I have one large problem. PainKiller is totally impossible. With any rope structure or bridge, it moves and then goes crazy. This making the game not possible to even pass the 3rd level.
I have searched a lot of forums and I cant find anyone else with my problem, but I was hoping if someone knows how to fix this.
Cheers

This "effect" comes along with slow systems, means poor fps.
Try to lower your advanced settings to get more fps...and the problem isn't any more.
The reason is based on the collisions detection. If the system isn't fast enough to handle the huge count of arithmetical operations, especially for moveable objects, the result is that "it" means you'd be inside of this objects like sinking in the under ground. The following is this catapult-effect...

Hey
Thanks for that, but it didn't help.
I would be surprised if it was my system, i have a dual core 4600, and a nNvidia GeForce 7900 GT.
Things like Gary's mod, and other games with masses of rope bridges, and other physical object work fine, I've never come to a problem like this on my system before.

Yeah - you're right with your system - and for the rest...
Hm..let me say it on this way:
With these bridges you'll better get the feeling of Indianer Jones...:D
These swinging effects, especially by the bridges, have another reason. They are "sleeping" so far till you "wake" them up. And now the game engine produce a collisions detection between the edges of this "new" physical object and the rest of the map. (e.g the brigde in Catacombs!)
As I made "Hills" it tooks me ages of time to place those bridges on the map.
...take it sportsmanlike...;) :)

Ha,
Cheers man
So your saying... :) -> ^ |\_/| (bounce) success!!!
lol, what a run jump and launch is an answer?...:p
Even if i can make it, even the bodies hanging off stuff have spazez....and dead bodies sometimes....(or is that just the game?).. is there a way i can fix the 'sleeping' problem?...
Cheers

Not really...but you can hit/shot them.
And sometimes it's usefully. At "Hills" you can reach a secret with that catapult-effect.

Well, i tried the 'catapult' affect, but it had a 'spaz' and i fell strait through it...:(
This has happened since it started, i stand on it, and the rope bridge doesn't propel me...i just fall through it, but because its spinning around so fast...i suspect i just fall through a gap.

Man this is getting annoying...
I try and try again...but its just not possible...
This makes the game impossible... thats lame.

At last it must be caused by your PC because it wasn't complained by anyone before...:(...but you've to run, not to walk, over that Catacombs bridge...)

Well, i fixed it...
And i walked :D
i thought my dual core may have something to do with this, so i downloaded and installed a running driver that sotra forms the two cores together to run more smothly...now even unreal 2 works...
