Tree monsters

Okay now I have a problem when I go to the "Devil Moon" quest in the arindale area. I get attacked by a bazillion mushroom men and these tree monsters that throw limbs at you which stun you so you can't even drink healing potions or anything. Anybody have any suggestions on a good way to beat them?

Open up your inventory when you are stunned, the monsters will not attack, as the game will actually be paused. Other than that, the tree monsters go down really easy with fire spells.
