I have a big dude, if i buy the retail version of PainKiller Gold, this key is valid for add the game to steam, or i have top install it in my pc but not in steam :(

Have you tried? How do you know?
I used a very old key for Half-Life 1. I was amazed it accepted it. I know HL1 is Valve, but I don't see why they should show preference.

I was told that PK on Steam is actually Black Edition even though it says Gold. Supposedly even says Black Edition in the game.
