I am receiving the following errors when trying to start the demo:

"Cannot obtain procedure: wglGetExtensionsStringARB"
"Render failed to create because:
OpenGL extension is not supported: GL_ARB_texture_compression
OpenGL extension is not supported: GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object
OpenGL extension is not supported: GL_ARB_texture_cube_map
OpenGL extension is not supported: GL_ARB_vertex_program"

"Cannot create renderer"

"cannot initialize game"

I am running the following setup:
Windows Vista 32-bit
2gb RAM
E6400 Core 2 Duo
256mb X1300pro w/ driver versions 8.31.100.0

Is this just an issue with the demo? I'd like to try the game before I buy it. Would be disappointing if the X1300pro is not a supported card since it is a good "midway" card for the Radeon family. I already tried updating the drivers through ATi(though Im pretty sure mine are already up to date) and everytime I try to install the 7.2 catalyst drivers for Vista 32 bit my machine crashes in the analysis stage.

To which demo you refer single player or multi player (beta)?

Not being able to update your drivers signals to me a problem outside the realm of the game. You can try reading through ATI's install and uninstall help pages to see if they help:

I was able to uninstall my old drivers and install the new windows vista 32bit catalyst driver and that fixed the old errors. Now I'm getting a brand new one...

"Cannot obtain procedure: glDrawBuffersATI"

The single player demo starts, but once into the actual tutorials I get a bunch of shaded polygons moving around the screen which I can only assume are supposed to be space particles and gases under normal circumstances. Right now it's just a bunch of semi-translucent yellow triangles floating around on top of the background.

Again, this is on a 246mb X1300pro graphics card.

I can suggest going into the Catalyst Controller and change the options to 'let the application decide' to ensure that nothing is forced on. (Such as Anti Aliasing or V-Sync). If it's what I think is happening, this should eliminate the problem. It sounds like something I would see happen very rarely, and going into options and reselecting a different resolution (Simply changing the refresh rate woulld work) would seem to fix it as well. Please let us know if it helps at all. Thanks.

I turned the 2 Anti-Aliasing options in the Catalyst panel to let the program decide, and the game now works! Thanks very much for the help. Oddly enough, I'm still getting that error on startup...but it doesn't seem to have any effect on gameplay so far.

Is the basic pre-installed Vista Drivers for Radieon Cards.

Your inablility to install the graphics driver was being caused by a Vista premissions error, which, if you have updated recentally, was fixed.

**Known Issues

When you update your drivers, windows vista does not get the information to display a number, so, if you updated to 7.2 it will show the basic vista one, altough, you do have 7.2 installed.

In the retail version of the game it still has the render failure, this is a communcation issues between the GPU and the OS ( a failure in the DirectX part of Vista) While this issue may seem serious, it is fixed by the graphics card,it just might take awhile longer to load.

Ever since Ati went to AMD, it's having a legion of issues with Intel.
