Hey all, I'm not sure if this thread belongs on the technical support board so please forgive me if it isn't. I figured maybe it'll have a higher chance of being seen by pros and dc members. Anyways, I just noticed that weapons being used in haste mode have way higher rates of fire and a lot of them are so fast that they never finish their reload animations, bolt gun and stakegun for example (have original pk at v1.64). I don't remember ever seeing this with the earlier versions of the game so I was wondering if this is a bug/glitch? I currently have p4 @ 3.4 ghz, 2 gb of ram, and nvidia geforce 7900gt if setup has anything to do with it. Thanks guys.

No bug or glitch, its pure gameplay. If U throw grenades they also burn like molotov cocktails and the shotgun doesnt spread so much like usual. The haste is also known as weaponmodifyer (wich is actualy the name for the item in the PainEditor).
Haste tarot card and weapon modifier are 2 completely different things...

Thanks for the quick replies guys, what I meant by "haste mode" is just purely the triple haste alone through the use of black tarot card or cheats ("pkhaste" gives same effect as triple haste), I've tried both without any other cards or modes in effect. I wouldn't be surprised if the weapon modifier powerup does increase fire rate, just didn't think that something as simple as haste would have an effect on that so I just thought that I'd bring that up and see if it's a bug or glitch. Thanks again for the replies guys!
Have to add that weapon fire animations also get twisted when using dexterity tarot card. Specially with shotgun

OK ... but back to my question: Is there any difference between the card and the item? I tryed to find the lua files but had no luck. So is the only difference THE difference? Or what?

Weapon modifier is a powerup that can be accessed only through item pickup (there's one around the middle of city on water if I remember correctly) or cheat (type in "pkweaponmodifier to try it out). What it does is it enhances the weapons' performances like you said and changes the hud slightly with a red halo around the perimeter of your screen. Haste is an ability that can be activated by golden tarot card or cheat. There're three levels of haste: haste (you move at 2x normal speed), double haste (4x), and triple haste (8x). The cheat "pkhaste" grants the same effect as triple haste only. The only reason I posted this thread was to find out if weapons are supposed to fire faster since haste shouldn't affect the weapons at all and the messed up reload animations (how you never see the stake ready for fire before the gun shoots again) really made me feel that it was a glitch. But I guess it IS a part of it.

First of all:
Ur last post made me smile (in a good way) because im playing the game since the demo was released (in november 2003 and as U can see im registered in this forum for 3 years now and have about 2700 posts).
I finished the game SP so many times! Also in trauma, 5 star ... etc. :)
The reason for the misunderstanding is simple. Many MP people call the weaponmodifyer haste too. And also there is in BooH a weaponmodifyer card aviable! ;)
I thought the haste cards were called something like "speed ..." whatever.
In this case U might be right about the "noreload anim" bug\glitch while using the haste cards then. :p
