I bought this game yesterday 15/05/07 and played it on my friends machine and it worked perfectly so I brought it home and played it on my home PC. Although the game did work it was running pretty slow possibly due to the much lower ammount of memory it has, however this is my problem, I am trying to get the game to run on my laptop which is quite frankly far superior to the other 2 machines i have ran the game on. However when i put the CD into the computer it doesn't recognise the CD at all. I have tried to update my DVD drive drivers which I found out were up to date anyway, but this has had no effect and i am running out of options. Will the game simply not run on a laptop or is there another problem that i am overlooking.
My Laptop system specs are as follows :-
AMD Athlon 3000+ 64 Bit Processor
1GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128 MB graphics card
16 Speed DVD RW
Windows XP Home Edition

The game should run on your laptop without problems, your specs are fine. I think the issue could be related to your CD/DVD ROM reader/media compatibility or it's lens just need some cleaning.

Hmm well i don't think it's a problem with the DVD drive because other cd's and dvd's work just fine on it. Also I know it's not a problem with the game DVD because it works perfectly on my other machine at home.

I had a similar problem, but on my desktop, in fact I had given up and forgotten about the game until yesterday I tried again and it worked!
No idea what the problem was but seems it is sensitive to the drive. I may have had my system over clocked the first time, not sure but that sometimes has an effect on drive reliability.

Anyone else have any ideas about this cause it still won't work?

I have been told that this may simply be a problem with the copyright that has been placed on the CD by the publishers/designers of the game, and for some reason it isn't allowing my computer to read the disc. If this is the case is there some way to circumvent the copyright protection on the disc? It shouldn't be an infringement on copyright rules as I have purchased the game through the proper method.
