Just purchased a new G5 Logitech mouse. Having trouble mapping keys besides right and left click to functions. Anyone have experience with this?
I had the Fatal1ty 1010 and never could map anything besides left, right, scroll wheel and scroll wheel press.
I set G5 software to recognize buttons 4 as page up and 5 as page down then went into PK and pressed those buttons to map to fire best custom. I can fire best custom from keyboard but not from mouse?
Ideas?

Open setpoint and then chose smth like "press a button" ... then press the button on the mouse ...

I am returning the mouse. It changes dpi on the fly like the box says but the box didn't say it would do it on its own! The G5 I have has 2 thumb buttons but I couldn't find it on Logitech's web site. The G5 drivers off their web site say I don't have a G5 installed.
Might replace it with the 1 thumb button (orangeish) G5. But the store doesn't have those any more. That's what happens if you become a trail blazer. You get arrows in your back.
Petja. I wasn't clear on what you said. Could you restate it a different way? I'll try when I get a new mouse. Set point only allowed me to map buttons to a list of preset keys (like page up, page down...).
I have a funny feeling my PK is weird because another mouse didn't allow mapping to extra mouse buttons either. Either that or my Sony PC.

See i had a MX510 & MX518 about a year ago. Its a bit older/different mouse and also hard to remember. :(
I think the setpoint (keep in mind the layout might have being changed too) had 3 different windows.
In the 3rd window was a option to bind the keys new (probably this option was called 3.a).
Imo there was a list with keys but also options (like press button).
Find it (scroll down it must be somewhere there and bind a keyboard-key to the mousebutton U like). :o
I did this with the numpadbuttons because i never used them for gaming.
Then when i started PK = Controlls i could bind the weapons etc to the buttons (it was shown as NumPad_01 etc). So everytime i pressed the now binded to a keyboardkey buttons i changed weapon etc.
No clue if this helps but HeGe the cousin from SYS has a G5 too. If my help dont do any good U should ask SYS. I believe he will know or might minimise the errors from my oldbrain-expaination. :)

PeTjA, it works for HeGe too, of course, we did the same... :)
Uuber, here are two screens below, they show what exactly You have to do. First You have to specify keystrokes, use the numeric keyboard: so NUMPAD-1, NUMPAD-2, and so on... Then make the same settings what I have under Mouse Gaming Settings... Important: don't forget to push up the DPI to 2000 with the sens increase button before You make keystrokes! Otherwise Your mouse will work at a lower DPI..and after these settings above, Your DPI won't change till You restore the default settings for that... I hope it's clear...

When You are ready with this, start the game and bind keys on the mouse: simply click one of the buttons and they will be binded as "NUMPAD-1", "NUMPAD-2", and so on...
Also, don't forget that now You are a "cheater". :D You have 500 Hz USB polling rate by default! You can change it in SetPoint though if You want..I recommend You to keep the 500 Hz, it's so smooth...

I returned the first mouse and did the key stroke assignment in the Setpoint software and it worked in PK. I then looked at the forum and it is exactly what you guys wrote. Thanks. The first mouse must have been funky.
Only problem is I am still waiting for Sys' pictures to load. I don't think I'll be able to play PK anymore as I wait and wait and wait...;)
Now I have to get used to using my thumb but I have 9 buttons to choose from. Should I use push wheel left for nades? Button 6 for shotty? I am so confused.
I let it default to 500 polling rate. I noticed no difference on ROD so far. Don't expect I will. I am noticing much more lag on Rod and server crashes. Every time I run into someone I teleport a few meters. Why aren't there more US players. Crumb bum.

Come to XFire Uuber, then I'll send the pictures to You... :)
I can't believe it's this bad from abroad, OMG..from here it's fine. And we still don't know the reason behind this (and uploading is fast from abroad too! both Artas and Cyody reported)... :(
There's a noticable difference even between 125 and 250 Hz, lags and ping don't matter..can't believe You don't feel it. Though it's a known thing that not everyone feels the differences... I kept playing earlier with 125 Hz and I was the same effective (total similar weaponstats), but 500 Hz is smoother, it's a better feeling to play... :)
