Hey there,I just built a new computer, specs are Asus Crosshair mobo,4 gigs PNY ram,Dual Maxtors 300 gigs,Satas. In a Raid configuration. Two PNY XLR8, 8800 in an SLI config. And a 1000 watt power suppy.I am running Win XP Pro.Well, every game I have tried,Prey Nevrewinter 2 ,Doom and others run fine.I installed Painkiller and when I try to start the Game I see the Dream catcher logo for a second and then the computer shuts down completely.I then have to boot back up.I tried installing the 1.61 patch but it did not help.I will see insert the proper CD and when I do it shuts down again. As a side note I have Painkiller running on other PC,s with no apparent problems. The demos run just fine.I know I am missing something obvious and would appreciate any help you can give me .Thanks

Just search the forum for "dualcore".
This is simply a technical issue btw.

Oh...in this case I wouldn't be so sure for that...never heard about a correlation to a bluescreen.
I guess that the problem could be more specific and related to his PC configuration...maybe a corrupted DirectX or old bad fragments from PK-demo or bad installation during the new ones.
But my "favourite" is a wrong GPU driver...
BTW...what a rig !!! :( .... I need a sponsor...LOL
