Time to start the topic, because I already have some stuff. I knew this though for sure, days ago... :) The idea for the topic's title came from "Hall Of Fame", what is a nice thing as we know..well, "Hall Of Lame" is a bit lesser nice... :D

Once more, what's the topic about? It opens to introduce players who sometimes loose their manners while playing online. We - I'm not alone with the thought - hope that this may change most rude players' attitude a bit. Because I'll spam the link for the topic a few times at the end of each match. So all players will have the chance to visit the "infamous Hall Of Lame blacklist", and then they can reply, add comment, and they even can add new screens. About adding screens: those should add screens who play with their real nicks, that's more authentic...

Again, I don't care if some people will hate me just because I release the truth for the public. The servers are for public also, anyone can access them, so the rude guys can think twice what they are going to say. Especially when they know they will be published here... ;) Also, I'm planning this to be NOT a "flame topic", it should not taken too serious! I'd like You Guys to add funny comments for the screenshots, not blaming. I'd rather like to show players' attitude from the bad side..hoping they will change it when they can see themselves presented here... I hope we can make the MP-experience a bit more friendly with this with more fun...

Enough talk, finally let's see the first three pieces of players' "bests"... :D We had a few matches, Sk1p rocked, He was playing very well. Naturally not everyone was happy due to that... ;)

If anyone of You Guys has such screenshots from His MP-experience, don't hesitate to share them! Although I really hope that this topic won't contain too many pictures and maybe even will sink very soon. I know I'm quite naive with this thought: I play at least a few hours daily, and I know I can collect many screenshots like the ones above...

Final thought: enough is enough, we must stand up for ourselves at last! We, who try to be correct with others while playing without saying anything bad on them. If we do that, we have the rights to expect the same from others... So if anyone gets any insulting online (rude words, bad comments, people want to kick/bankick him for no reason, etc.), then just feel free to share it! And remember, people are different: maybe calling someone "b1tch" isn't a rude thing for someone whilst it really hurts other people. Plus criticizing anyone's gameplay - especially when he is far better - is really a lame thing. Remember for this...

And really finally: don't take this topic too serious! I'm NOT blaming anyone here for real, not that is the reason. I started it mainly for the reason what PeTjA told us already: "Because new players (and not only new) should see and understand who are the real people and who are ghosts. :cool:" - well said... ;) And I think we don't need to tolerate all the bad words and insulting all the time. We try to be correct, let's make others try the same also... Also, if I would do anything bad, feel free to present me here also, don't fear to do that! I deserve that also in that case. But I promise, I'll fight against that as hard as I can, so hopefully it never will happen...

I already had that issue - waiting for an hour and noone joined - and it's not really about "punishing", also it's far not about complaining. I just remember how things was going when I started playing MP nearly 2 years ago and how they are going recently. Way too much of a difference, ask those who're still trying to play and are still trying to be peaceful and friendly while playing (as they did earlier)... The problem is there are not just a few, there are many..we're the few who never say bad words, I can count on those players on my 10 fingers - so it's kinda "inverted"...

Maybe You're right and it won't help us and it won't go to anywhere. Maybe I'm completely wrong indeed. In that case I'll stop posting here and the topic will sink down soon, no doubt. Also, then You can tell to me that "I've told U"... But maybe it will change things a bit in the Arena. Who knows? Let's try it, let's see it! You never can predestinate anything for sure without even trying it...

so you make a thread to punish some of the few people that still bother to play multiplayer. you don't thank them for giving you some bodies to play against, instead you complain about their behavior. way to support the game... remember this thread next time you are trying to play and nobody joins for the 30 minutes that you wait.

SYS is neat person. In this forum and while playing online. He deservs respect for his manor and also his skills (instead of being insulted)! :)

yeah, i've seen other games die the slow death. in the end it is always bickering between the few people that are left. You can either ignore them and just play. playing into the games is just going to chase other people off.

1. Let's see the first guy. Yet another rude 20-pinger. The funniest comment was right before he quit: it seems he knows me from here ("the voice of dark" - oje :D). I'm suspect that this was the same guys who tried to insult me earlier but he was having a higher ping that time... We were just laughing on him with Skynet, He has 90 ping but He is far better than the rude 20-pinger was... :D

1. The guy started trying insulting me, as You can see on the first pictures. I didn't give any attention on him though, but I thought, "now I got U!", because this was the same 20-pinger who I shared here earlier ("voice of the dark"), and this was now his real nick...

2. He challenged me for a Duel, and though he didn't even deserve any single answer from me, I thought of giving him a lession. I never answer to insultings but I love breaking the pride of people (especially when it's too high). :D I knew he will have no chance anyway... Naturally in the meantime he started criticizing me about playing mostly FFA, what is obviously for lamers only and I would worth nothing in Duel. Well, we'll see, I thought... :D

3. I mentioned him that he could be a bit nicer for others, then we started a game on Killua's. Not to mention that Killua's server is very bad for me to play, but I didn't worry about the match... He froze at 3 minutes, he later said his connection broke, but I rather think he pressed the RESET button... :D

4. Then we started another game, but at 3 minutes, he started complaining about some technical issues. Oh, because I have no technical issues at all and I'm not writing long essays about them what my Medic friend enjoys to read always, He told... :D It was hard to hit the guy. Not just due to my connection, but he was a big runner. Though it didn't matter...

5. We couldn't finish that game either. Although I know this guy plays only 10 minutes Duels, we weren't at 10 yet and probably he wouldn't have been asked for a restartmap if he'd had been leading against me (oki, this is surely not correct in grammar :D)...

6. Then we started another game, You can see how patient I was. He called me "lucky", as always though. Sure, he was right anyway, I have only luck here with my connection, this is what I always try to explain to people..but with no luck... At least he was quite smart because he knew this fact by himself, WOW... ;) He also knew how good/bad I am, after playing 3 broken short matches, see that on the other picture... :)

7. Finally he left but he made a final very intelligent comment first, as You can see on this picture. I thought, "oh, at last, my time-wasting period is over"...

Final thoughts... I highly don't recommend to anyone to play with this guy. He is rude, and this was not his first action and not only on me. I could mention a few more names who also have been insulted by him before (even my cousin, HeGe). He rarely finishes any match, maybe when he can win, he plays till the end. When he is about to loose badly, he usually chickens after leaving some bad comments on the other players. Avoid this guy if You don't want some unpleasant moments for yourself, and I also don't recommend him as a trainer/partner, because You won't learn too many useful things from him... Maybe he should grow up first because he was very immature...

That is all, I hope he is now proud to be presented here... :)

Sorry to say. My hall of lame list opens with Sys and Skip. I'm suprised you are acting this way on server Sys, you had a lot to say in PK MP etiquatte topic.

It's imposible to play ffa when skip and sys are both on the server, they are not shooting to each other. Instead of that they cooperate and rape other players. What's worse, you got always best ping( so your "team" with 30 ping is raping other players which got about two times as high ping and are playing fair). So sad

I'm sorry about that. But we're not doing this all the time, MasP. You know, the latest 2on2 funcup is still unfinished, Mason and Scoobz have no time to play. And we're trying to practice. Yes, we would play on JunkYard, 2on2, but we rarely have the chance, cause nearly noone plays with us...

Thanks to the OG-Guys (Torspo and SuddenCane) and thanks to Violator and 0-Gravity (earlier known as Blow), for playing with us! And we would like to play with You MasP too with WTO, that would be an awesome practicing for us, because You Guys are good...

Sorry about that all, but this is the problem. That cup never ends - it's funny that it's been running for 2 or 3 weeks already, and only 2 matches should be played at last..once... - and we are loosing our shape if we're not practicing together. And anyone understood that so far...

Earlier there were other players too (especially Polish players and a German) who played "coop". Since Free For All means You can do anything, it's free for You to do anything. You can try to shoot at everyone or You can try to team up with someone. Anyone can do this. I also had to fight earlier (especially in the Winter, Jan-Feb, I remember, and last Autumn too, I mean whole Autumn) against good players who were teamed up in FFA, and I thought, well, it's just a tough challenge, let's see if I can beat it or not... Sometimes I could, many times I couldn't...

You have to know a few more things though. We're not always serious while teamed up. I often just play with stakes only or as like last time: maximum settings at 1024x768, filters are on, and no crosshair. So I had some lags and so on...

One more thing. If You stop aliasing at last and for forever, then we will know it's You, MasPingon. That would be just awesome You, instead of shouting words like "f**k" and "this is lame", etc. If we know it's You and You tell us to stop, we stop..sure thing... But what we can do with rude ghosts who are shouting bad words on us? We can only ignore them... So please try to play with real nick, and when we see You, we stop our practicing...

Really finally, sK1p also says that we will stop this when the cup ends. Then I'll remove the CTRL-tag too till next 2on2-funcup, and will be MK again... Then the nightmare ends, we promise... :)

Oh, and about ping... Don't think my ping is so good. I have +-50-100 flux daily, so my 35 ping is often indeed 90 or 135. And it's just even worse when I play on Alter4 or on Shmacks, cause flux increases too by the farness. I hate when people can see that I have 35 ping, just they are not looking at the scoreboard constantly to see: it's jumping between 29-46. I would be happy with let's say even an 512K DSL, instead of this Cable what I have now. I had DSL before, I know what I'm talking about. Just to see how awesome pings I have, I've uploaded this small file (http://tombraider.central-game.net/sys/painkiller/Ping-ROD_2000.zip) onto the server. It's only 2KB, so I know it's downloadable from abroad too. Sk1p just tested, it worked with a download manager, so please use one, if You can't open (the server has problems with abroad somehow). I did the test a few days ago, pinged ROD 2000 times, You can see the results, and You can think about how hard is to play with ping between 25 and 181. And only I was using the connection and didn't do anything else..no virus, no spyware, it's simply just CABLE... So forget my ping please, this is one thing in what You're completely wrong for sure...

I said "****!" when I was fighting with Skip and you was hiting me in the back. It could start to be annoying when it's happening more often.Then I said "stop doing this, it's lame". I think I was very cute in this situation.I stayed on server for about 5 more minutes but I could't stand this so I quit. There was more players on server and they were quiting before me from the same reason. Put yourself in situation when you join the server to just play 4fun and two guys are making it imposible. They won't rather like it. Btw what's the difference if it's me or someone else? Everyone wants to play. I'm not playing with my real nick couse my mouse is broken and it turns off very often, but everyone knows who is who. Glad you understund what I'm talking about, peace and cya.

Killua, no, not every Polish player does that. And especially not the good ones. MasP is right from this side. That's one thing if two low-mid skilled Polish player are teamed up, but sK1p+me are too cruel... But that's another fact is that on Polish-servers I often feel that everyone attacks only me after a while, and they are even talking about something earlier, but I don't understand, cause it's in Polish... :D But I take it as a challenge, no problem for me... :) However if MasP+WTO would do that with me, then OMG, that would be just too cruel...

You're right MasP, though the difference between You and others is that others didn't make any problem from that. We told we're practicing for that cup, and they understood. We even invited some of them, to have teams somehow (it was hard to collect 4 teams), but that didn't work well. We even said thanks for those players who even wanted to play with us... And I think we didn't play too much together, so this "issue" didn't happen too frequently...

You're saying to me to try out such a situation. But mate, read me back, I told You, I already had been into such situations! And not only once. I know two German players who always team up with someone in FFA, and one of them was very active, he teamed up with me too often after a while. But earlier he teamed up with some known Polish players. So there were many players with this attitude, You just don't play that much like I do, so haven't seen enough... And I almost always had to fight against that couple and the rest players. And yes, it wasn't easy. But I took it as a challenge...

Finally, I think that 2on2 cup is just over. I checked Mason's site, and the bracket is nowhere anymore. This is just amusing: signed onto my first "PK-cup" ever in my life, and sK1p and I have a good chance to win it, and then... Then what...? It never ends, brackets already doesn't exist... Maybe this is our penetration for the coop-playing in FFAs... :D

Having a crap mouse is not an explanation for aliasing, I think. You're still good. See, I was aliasing due to my connection, You have seen my pingtest, probably. I didn't want to play with real nick till I'm having this Cable-connection (the countdown has been started for a while). And recently I'm playing with real nick even so. And I was playing with real nick when I had maximum settings and no crosshair, and Boorack was above me..and when YANS (was aliasing of course) beated me on ROD with double-ping a few days ago, cause I could not hit anything and was unable to move (I was seeing him warping all the time, and You can enjoy his demo, it's on FileFront)... But I was with my real nick. With crap mouse, this wouldn't change here either, I would put a tag about it maximum. I'll keep playing with real nick, whatever I have, whatever bad thing happens... I take it as another challenge... :)

I also have some new. Nothing special, just how players are acting while using the Electro on them... :D The first guy is a really rude one, tells other players to make sexual action with their mothers, calls other players cheaters, and so on. Should be kicked usually, just most players can't vote, as we know... I kept using the Electro on this guy, I think it's obvious why...

The second player is just..hmm, I don't like when someone starts criticizing other players. For example I don't like when someone enters and starting playing like a bot: sidestepping and stakes only, that's just no game and is annoying, especially when ProPlus is off and stakes give too high damage. For another example I don't like when someone spams nades only and he is lagging down the server with that. I don't like these things, but it's FFA, what means FREE For All, so anyone is allowed to do anything and is allowed to play how he likes or wants. Therefore I never criticize players about what weapons they use, camping or not, or even when teaming up with someone else. That's their decision, I still try keeping pace, that's all...

And then here's the last player. I think I know who he is, but I don't want to guess it in the public, especially when I'm not sure completely... Here's another example of bad manners: I don't like when someone starts criticizing the FFA-players and underestimates them in general. This is simply not nice. And I'm not talking about myself, there were other players too in the Arena. Well, if someone is so good, then he can win all FFAs too, not just the Duels. Some players think FFA is so easy and is easier than Duel, but actually this is not true always and the two gamemodes are not even comparable. However I know that FFAs can be very hard: I remember games when medic, sK1p and I was in the Arena, and even one or two averige players - now that was very hard for all of us... ;) Also, I'm standing up for the FFA-players here. Just for because they don't like Duel and just for because I know I beat all of them with 40:0 for sure in Duel (whilst in FFA they do have chance very often!), I don't start blaming and attacking them...

The other thing was that he was aliasing, wasn't even playing with real nick and didn't tell me who he is. And he was not good in Duel either. So these are just more reasons NOT to criticize any other player. But he did, and this is somehow a fact BTW: only BAD players criticize other players while playing. And it's so easy with no name, when they feel they are in safe more or less...

Haha Levi', WARGASM is my friend. He is German. Never take Him serious, whatever He said, because He is just an ultra crazy guy. :D I mean, He is really, absolutely NOT normal..in the good meaning though... :D He never "insults" anyone for real, just joking with people, sometimes even with me, and then I'd like to slap Him... :D But when we're playing together, we usually laugh a lot, it's great fun (He made me a bit not normal too)... :) He also plays a lot, just like me (I think He plays even more), so we often play together, I know Him quite well...

Oh, no need to say sorry I think, because we who know Him, we know He wasn't serious at all and that wasn't insulting. But I think it's nice from You anyway. And don't worry, I don't think it's a problem for Him that You've shown that shot. This topic is NOT "offensive" for real and it contains shots from not really serious (so sometimes even just a funny thing) to serious stuff (like real insultings) and people can decide what is what... :)

Your shot just shows us that how crazy He is (You can see the smiley under the text on the shot). :D But He is a nice guy... Anyway olo is a Polish player and He has been playing for a long while in FFAs (and He always needs some help from someone)... :)

my problem is that i've started to play PK MP later, from June 2007.... :(
(very slow internet connection.... ADSL came later from me....)
and i don't know well the player in the server.....

I love this game.... :)
I set up with my friend a "clan" (asd, mini clan).... the " |FnK| "
(FnK means "fanatik".... because we are a PK-FANATIK!!) ;) (or maniak....!!) :)

only 2 player at the moment (me and my friend).... but i hope to know new guy to add in this "little clan" :D

An observation: why do You play at so high FPS? Take into consideration that uploading more FPS means uploading more data onto the server. You load the server more with more FPS. Playing at 125 FPS online is more than enough, but even 100 FPS is quite playable (just You're a bit slower). In LAN, You can play with whatever FPS, I think (but even at CPL the players limited it to 100 or 125 to make it STABLE)... But uploading FPS like 191, 200, 300..well, if everyone was playing at such high FPS, that would load the server more and more. Not to mention that a jumping 150-190 FPS is worse than a stable 125. And sometimes we don't know why it's so laggy, why shots are delayed and why some 300 FPS players are warping on the screen and are complaining about bad lags... :rolleyes: Use 125 FPS online, please..You really don't need more... :)

My upload rate is limited to 2048 bytes only, due to my net, so that means I'm uploading around 50-60 FPS only (32+some bytes packets), but I'm getting 125 FPS here at clientside anyway. The lesser loads on the server the more playable and lesser laggy game, don't forget about that...

Type /netstats 1 to see how many bytes You're downloading/uploading at the moment and how the upload-bandwidth changes due to FPS-changes. And multiply the upload with the number of the players to get that with how many useless bytes the server is bombed during playing..what it has to download and what its CPU has to work with...

Sure, just type /setmaxfps 125 to make it 125... :) I actually play at 120 mostly, because PK++'s newest version limits FPS by default to that value here. Sometimes I press my binded key to make it 125 (I limit to 125 even on a self-started server to make it stable), but I almost always forget about that online... :D

I think the bandwidth limiter is recommended only/mainly for users who have just a very tiny connection, a low bandwidth. Mine is 1mbit/128kbit. The 1 mbit download is OK (even 512 would be OK), but the 128 kbit upload is way too tiny: if I set my FPS to 125, my ping is going up to 255 and I'm starting experiencing constant 20% packetloss. This is because I'm uploading too much and that kills my connection ("upload vs. download" thing, etc.). When I set the FPS to 100, the ping stays around 60, but it's somehow still unstable and the game is laggy and slow...

So I realized that I have to limit my upload by using the limiter, and I set it to 2048 bytes only. With this I can play at 125 or whatever FPS here clientside, though my game uploads only about 50-60 FPS. Maybe this is a small disadvantage in general (less effective aiming? worse control? slower movement? not sure), but for me it's far better than playing at 100 or 125 FPS without limiting the client-uploading (125 is impossible, 100 is still laggy and slow). I think if a user with a normal connection tries this out, he won't notice any positive difference, whilst for me, this is the only chance to play online at all... :D

Anyway, there's one problem with this limiting: my ping goes up to 255 (netstats is showing up to around 600 ping) for about 30 seconds after each reloadmap still, though then it starts working and the ping is normalizing. It seems the limiter needs some time to get working somehow... So I'm getting 255 ping and 20% packetloss for about 30 seconds at the start of every single FFA I'm playing (if I limit the upload to let's say 3072 or higher then I'm getting 255 ping for about 50 seconds or more). Good start, usually someone kills me with a stake or something at the beginning of the match... But then... :D

All in all, I know NO other players online with this problem: noone is getting 255 ping during the beginning of a match, and I used to play a lot and I've seen many players and checked the scoreboard very often. It seems only Hungary prefers this crappy 128kbit upload rate even in 2007..soon even in 2008... :D

a question for SYS:
do you have the FAST PATH or the INTERLEAVE mode in your ISP connection settings?!? (about the worse ping??) ;)

if your ISP set you in INTERLEAVED, your ping-problem are normal.... my mate AndreVT have the same problem.... he's in interleave mode..... (telecom italy) :D

i have a different ISP from AndreVT and i'm in FAST PATH mode.
i rarely have a ping-problem.... the match start for me at 65/70's ms.... and after 15/20 second i play whit 35/40/50ms of ping.

AndreVT start's match whit 90/120ms (on godzilla and rod) and he play after 30 second whit 60/70/80ms.... i think he's a good player for he's ping!! :D
(and you too SYS) :D

check if your ISP can set you in FAST PATH mode (AndreVT tryed... but telecom activate FAST PATH only a business client)..... :(

No, it's not the interleave/fastpath mode. Simply the connection is too tiny and too much traffic breaks it. It's like when You're trying to play while uploading stuff at the moment... When I was a beginner, I had a 2mbit/256kbit ADSL, and I had no such problems. Later with Cable I had around 35 ping but that never was stable. This ADSL would be quite good, but the 128kbit upload ruins down the fun...

I know about interleave/fastpath mode, of course. I'm on interleave and I already have asked my ISP to change that to fastpath, because then I would have around 30-35 ping, what wouldn't be a bad thing. But the ISP said "no such service". This is Hungary...

Although I think it's not a big problem they refused changing it. My line is crap. I have around 45 dB attenuation, what means a really bad quality and also means that I should be happy even if it supported up to 4 mbit download. People in Budapest have below 20 dB attenuation, so they can have a 8 mbit ADSL there or even ADSL2+ with high speed with no problem... But we have - I think - around 20-30 years old wires/lines (what have been probably mostly eaten by rats as medic used to say :D) here around where I live, so no luck... And if the ISP would turn fastpath on for such crap lines..man I think I would suck much more then... :D

I don't think fastpath mode is good at all anyway. I ruins down the quality a bit, since it removes the double-checking of the transferred data. I remember one exact case: I was playing with 2 German guys and they both were experiencing 1-2% packetloss all the time, whilst I was having NO packetloss at all. They both had around 20-25 ping, I had 60. And they both were warping due to their packetlosses, whilst I wasn't. It was very annoying to play with them. Both of them were on fastpath-mode... All in all, I wouldn't allow fastpath mode for any user as an ISP...
