Hey, that's cool! You read it in the scripts, you know it from the player's view, but seeing this in action for the first time is really cool (the stake combo is great) *tschummmb*
Thank you, Kalme. :)
It was interesting to see these for me too. I used slow motion possibilities that your prog gives ( num +/-).

Hey Pool - that's cool! :D
Perfect done and a wonderful idea!
Thanks Varus! :)
You can not beliave but i have known about the prog just a few weeks ago. :D What a wonderfull instrument for movie making! If it was possible to have some motion instruments to do prefect slow motion or motion by sertain path with controlled speed, it would be even more great.

Amazing! I never nailed that combo, though. You should show us something else in slo-mo.
:eek:OMG!how did you do this?
With help of PainEditor and PowerMad programms.
In PainEd i go in game mode and in full screen (f10 - for full screen). Then i shoot granade and stake to do combo, then slow speed to 1/512, go to editing mode (f) and fly to place of contact. There i slightly increase speed (to 1/256) and when contact is close enough i start fraps recording.
Increasing and decreasing of speed i do with the help of PowerMad programm (-/+ num keys).
One more video about fire up.

Do you need to do that in the editor? I mean, you can use the noclip/fly mode ("f") in the normal game too (with Powermad). The console command for that is pmnoclip.
Oh! I shall check this out as soon as i could. :)

WOW Pool, this is very spectacular, thanks for these videos! ;)

Yeah "WOW" from me too man. There's something very "surreal" about these. The combination of the slowing down of time, the angle (SP fans are never on this end of a stake, only you MP'ers know what that feels like) and the overall quality too, which looks great! I'm a big fan of slow mo'. :)
Sorry it took me so long to watch these pool, and congrats it's always motivating to see someone trying new things with this game, and for me personally something that's not necessarily related to game play, but instead something that's creative, artistic, cinematic.
comboStake_002_02.avi The gradual intersecting trajectories make for a nice sequence. As the combo "flies-by" you could increase the speed (back to normal) and the camera turn to watch the stake pin into a target and explode. I love action that slows down and speeds up at curious intervals (e.g. new age martial arts battles, fast punch to the jaw, slow mo' of the victim spitting teeth, hehe).
fireUp_003_03.avi put on your 3D glasses this one will shave a few whiskers!:D
The stake/grenade combo is such a unique event, I guess you could have some fun with it if you used Haste, then shot toward a teleporter (from a long distance away) quickly teleported to it, just in time to see the combo coming at you...
You know what you need to do next don't you? Capture the Painkiller's blades flying through an enemy model and watching it explode (pkalwaysgib).
Or better yet, script a cut scene. After all this time, can this still not be done? because the tools aren't available?

Thank you for so detailed answer (like always though). :)
You know it is no so easy yet to do such things unfortunatlly. You speak "haste mode to use", but the mode it is just slow time option and it ruins -/+ num effect. Maby some conflict, i do not know yet.
Then dinamic time change. I d like to use the effect to change speed of events from normal to slow and back way but it courses a list of console inscriptions to hop on screen and it slightly currrupts the movie screen pole. It would be great to have it removed when recording in progress ( in PowerMad Overdose seems there is the option, but i used PowerMad version for Painkiller 1.64).
There is one more reason i ve showed the videos - you can see what you can do to do a movie about Painkiller: you can do slow motion of stakes, pain, driver ets. Slow motion of monsters and many other things now. With the help of Kalme programm. It is great thing!

i have the same question:
how to hide console commands?
they can be really annoying cause 4 lines are shown for a very long time.
i was looking into the lscripts but was unable to find the setting for it.

In Powermad: Overdose, you can turn off (Powermad's) console output with the pmverbose command.

and now the answer for the real pk please... :(

But mate, You know that PowerMad is a mod for the SP anyway, not for the MP... :D

yes, i am trying to record some scenes and those messages are really disturbing.
it takes 15 seconds until they disappear :(

What are you talking about? Powermad's messages? Or which ones? That feature is not part of Powermad for PK, but I can easily add it to the next release if you want...

i am talking about powermads messages for pk and the normal console messages of pk aswell. would be really nice to have that feature in the next patch.

Absolutely what I was thinking  I knew this was the brainwave you had in mind. I see you're on top of this thing completely (and in full control). Best of luck and much success pool. Dazzle us with your pizazz mate. :D
I think one of the first movies to show that "360 degree camera view" was SWORDFISH. Remember when the explosion (at the start of the movie) took place and the camera angled around it giving us a 3D perspective of the blast chaos? Something I have a lot of fun with in PK is turning on Haste, lobbing a Stakegun grenade into a crowd of enemies and then as the grenade detonates and the explosion expands outwards, I strafe "around the explosion" to see and feel it in this '360 degree camera perspective' in slow motion. The blood particles splattering out in every direction is most impressive. I've always wanted to capture it as a movie but alas poor Yorick my old PC struggles at the best of times...:o:p
Some ideas for things to play with (slow down time and rotate around the action) would be Necrogiant breaking free from his chains, another beautiful transition is when a flying Krusty is killed and poof! it vanishes with a cloud of smoke, or the Electrodriver alt-fire from a "top view" looking downward onto it from above as it sends lightning out in random directions, the "cross" (or 'x') a Samurai makes with his staff-sword in Snowy Bridge, or the ultimate challenge... capturing a "Witch getting pinned" by a stake-grenade...
