okay im new at this game and i just read about the powermad and i am using it but i can not figure out how to use the console cheats??? i used the tilde key but it does nothing please help@@

i dont get it i even tried to change the hot keys to the cheats i want but then it cant write the file when i save.....

I wonder "what server are you talking about" - what thema are you talking about at all - nothing to do with powermad here, or maby you think that you can cheat in multiplayer with powermad?

no i dont want to cheat in multiplayer and i do own a US keyboard but for the love of god my ~ key does not bring up a *console* when playing but the H key brings up help menu and the preset hot keys work like SHIFT+V and all that

i dunno it bugs the hell outta me

also i hit F12 for screen shots but cant find where they are stored on my comouter using windows vista

Hey man, keybords are cheap, buy one for 5 bux and that's all..

But what about that OD server? Should you know NOONE plays PK OD MP because it is not competetive yet.:) Play old PK.

C:\Users\[Your username]\AppData\Local\Painkiller Overdose

There are your saves, screenshots and config file.

Edit: Try running Overdose/PMC as admin if you got issues with writing files. Right-click any shortcut and select "Run as Administrator" for that.

Not sure if it is the same issue but I can't use the ` or ~ keys to bring up console either. This is on PK. I got a patch to use F1. But, I can bring up console with `/~ from main menu. When in game I can not.

Obviously see if you can type ~ in word or something to make sure the key is not broken.

thanks for the replies and YAY! i found my screen shots!! i wanted to share some pics with friends who use the game with a not-so-sweet video card ( i have all the settings maxed out and still get @40-50FPS!) what a noob i sound like but i just got my computer all hooked up for gaming and i havent gamed on a pc since 1999!! and my tilde key works see~~~~ so i dunno why it dont bring up the console during gameplay

Is that "~~~~~~~" the left key from "1" ? (upper left corner)
Because this would be the key you've to push.

yupp!! thats the one lol i play everynight and try everytime but it never works during gameplay like DOOM or UNREAL it should show something to enter the cheat but not with me!!

Sounds like my problem. Does the ~ key bring up console when at the menu? Try that and if it works we have the same problem. Solution: None.
