I've just finished Overdose on Trauma. It was hard . I reckon the game favours the run'n'gunner which, unfortunately, isn't me. I survived by making the best of whatever defensive and camping spots I could find. As I went through I recorded the best of them. I've put them together into a video set - The Overdose Defence. (http://hosted.filefront.com/AncientMariner/2170951)

They're intended as a bit of help for anyone having a problem with a partiular level on Trauma (or, indeed, Nightmare). You probably wouldn't want to play like this all the time but perhaps a specific clip might give you an idea of how to get through a tricky bit. Consequently, I don't claim them to be massively entertaining (though they have their moments), so please check out the Read Me (http://uk.geocities.com/greybeard.pk@btinternet.com/ODREADME.pdf) first to see if anything might be of use. I'm far from the greatest Painkiller player on the planet so I reckon if these worked for me, anyone can use them. I hope they help someone out.

One other vid came out of my Trauma run. Those who have been on the forum for a few years may remember that I've posted a series of vids called "Lemmings". Well, Overdose has its share of Lemmings moments as well. They crop up in a number of the vids. To save you the hassle of plowing through all the vids, here's the fourth installment Lemmings Forever (http://files.filefront.com/Lemmings+Foreverwmv/;9607353;/fileinfo.html). It also includes an "extra" of a Lemmings moment that didn't quite work out the way I planned ...

Cheers

Oh my dear Greybeard...
Just I've seen all your movies and it was fun and entertainment all "day" long. You've invested much time, patience and the right feeling for choice of music to fit the scenes and tenor of each part. Sometimes I've to laugh, sometimes I was surprised to see you playing like me at the same part in the same way. And I like your PK kind of Lemmings.:D
Thx for your effort!

Well done, lemmings speak for themselves like always did;)

You and cyody have that "treat" to record Overdose gameplay videos in - out with "full house on it", that's something worth "aweness"!

nice work on the lemmings!

It's always fun to see creative ways to send demons to their death ;)

Should I buy OD? HMMMMMmmmmm or perhaps try another mod?

I'm glad you liked the Lemmings. It's nice to know the AI hasn't changed too much :D

I liked OD more than BooH with a couple of reservations. Firstly, they really screwed up load times. I'd just upgraded to a PC ready for Crysis and Bioshock so it wasn't a problem but I know it's put a lot of people off. Secondly, it's bl**dy hard! The new enemies are tough little devils and there's a worrying lack of health power-ups. I really wasn't sure I could finish it on Trauma. However, if you want a real PK challenge, you'll enjoy it.

Cheers

How is that possible? What makes BOOH bad then compared to OD?

Nothing. BooH was certainly not "bad". Heaven knows I've played through it enough. I just thought OD was more 'coherent'. I found levels like Studios, Riot and Asteroids more original. I also liked many of the new enemies in OD like the Tentacles, the Electricians and the Riot Cops, tough though they were. BooH has the edge when it comes to traditional PK virtues like hard jumps and secrets (Colloseum, anyone :D). I wouldn't like to be without either :).
