Chapter 2 cna't get checking out the grounds to cross off

I've been inside the mansion, the main room, the safe room. I checked out the car, and found the piece of paper by the planter. I saw the scene that comes after putting the paper on the desk. I've been to both rooms in the nurses station, and seen the cross. I've been to the utility shed, seen the footprints, and been to the care takers house. I've been to the police station, the science lab, the computer lab, and the janitors closet. Here is my inventory list:

Motorcycle keys
Playback
Cellphone
Shard of glass
Shredded paper
Mud sample
Garbage can lid
Beaker
Hydrogen peroxide
Rubber gloves
Yellowed roll of Gauze
Hubcap


Why won't it check off??? what am I missing???

Okay, an update. I've also talked to Iola and made her aspirin I just cannot talk to Officer Riley, or cross off checking out the grounds. *sigh*. really, what am I missing?
